  1. Hi, I'm new to forums. Someone told me this is the place for custom notebook modding etc. I recently purchased this laptop P750TM1 with an i7-8700 + gtx 1070. I would have loved to get it with the i7 8700k, but at 95w TDP I figured I'm better off getting the 8700 with 65w TDP because the boost is 0.1 mhz but the extra thermals from that is not worth it for me in a notebook. Even at 65w TDP I'm concerned about thermals so the OEM offered to delid + apply liquid metal for better cpu cooling. I have no experience with this stuff, but from what I have read and seen online liquid metal has very poor longevity and it stains the cpu/heatsink. Does anyone know of any better cooling solutions or am I wrong about the liquid metal option and should go for it? Thanks in advance.
  2. Hi, I have a clevo P750DMG and my 970m started failing so I decided to buy a replacement one. Turns out that the new one doesn't get detected, I install it and turn the computer on but no video. I noticed that I could see disk activity so I tried to remote connect to it and it worked. I checked device manager and there is no graphics card there. After a lot of googling I discovered that the issue may be due to the fact that my machine is a g-sync one and the new card is not. I didn't know about that. My question is: is it possible to flash my computer bios or do any other hack to make this new non g-sync card work? I don't care about it as I use it to work only, I have another gaming machine. I just want to have it working again. Thanks!
  3. Hi All, I picked up a Dell 680m - vBIOS 80.04.5B.00.02 - I think it is a 2GB version after doing some photo comparisons online. After doing some research I fitted it into my Clevo P150HM hoping it would work, but and I get no POST, the LCD screen is blank, the HDD light does show activity but after ~ 15 seconds or so, 3 blinking lights appear on the left (power light, caps and insert buttons?) and the computer beeps about 4 times before it completely powers off. I'm guessing that I'm going to need to flash it to a clevo bios since the clevo bios doesn't recognise the dell vBIOS? I am running the latest 1.01.14 bios and 1.00.13 EC firmware for my P150hm. Does anyone have any ideas on what I can do? I thought i would at least get a POST but then struggle with the driver installation but i cant even get it to POST... Thanks!

  6. Clevo W2xxHNx/W2xxHPx series Modded & Stock BIOS Note: This thread is no longer updated. You can find the latest info HERE. Notice: Make sure you have downloaded the correct Mod for your specific model and that the laptop's or a UPS battery backup is present during the update process. Disclaimer: I do not hold any responsibility for any problems that may occur by using the mods in a wrong way. Remember that you flash these at your own risk. I have personally tested the W25xHNx mod. Since the laptops mentioned here are of the same series and thus almost identical, you shouldn't face any problems with the rest of them. The same changes were made to all models after ensuring that their stock counterparts are identical to the tested W25xHNx laptop. Note: All mods contain both the Modded and Stock BIOS image files so that you can go back in case you want to. Use Mod.bat or Stock.bat at a DOS environment respectively. 7. Just recently puchased a Clevo Gtx 780m on ebay and inserted it into my Alienware m17x r4. I'm terrible dissapointed to find the BIOS a12 unlocked and device mananger doesn't detect it at all. Are there some steps I have to undergo to make it work?
  8. It's really frustrating to me to have a new BIOS update, or a new model of laptop to flash, and for some reason or other, the flash goes badly and the system is bricked. The only recourse is to get it reprogrammed by sager, since it won't boot. I know there are chip programmers, but I know they have methods of flashing the BIOS, ME, and EC without removing the chips from the board. Are they using the Debug connector to do this? is it possible that I could get the specifications needed to recover the BIOS in the same way? What kind of Programmer interface would I need, and what would the pin-out be for the appropriate connector? Right now I am working with the P775TM1-G, P650HP6-G, p650HS-G and P955HR (physical variant of P950HR).
  9. I own a Clevo P151SM1 that I bought in a hurry last year after my Alienware died on me. It's done a good job of playing everything I've thrown at it but lately, it's been shutting itself off when I play certain games or graphics-heavy programs. When idle it sits around 38C which is great. But when I get into a game it skyrockets up to 97C as the last recorded temp before it shuts itself off. I've cleaned the fans and keep it on an elevated cooling pad (no fans on the pad cause I broke them) but it gets plenty of air. I know that 97C is probably damaging the card and I don't want that. Does it look like I'm going to have to repaste it? I've attached my latest readings if that would help. HWMonitor.rar

  11. Hi, I just found out there is a new Clevo seller in the US. They have quite a good price. I read some information about them in European forums and they seem to be fine. They have most of the Clevo models. If you want to check you can find them here https://dreammachines.io As far as I know in US they were selling so far mice (I saw it on other forum: But I thought if someone is looking for something new and wanna try they might be quite interesting.
  12. Hi, I have upgraded my P170EM with a 970M a couple of years ago. I used the vBIOS from @Prema and his v2 BIOS. Has shown on many thread, the v3 bios is not public and I have to stick with the v2 so I modded my infs for upgrading my nvidia drivers. Upgrading from win7 to win10 was quite difficult and after many tries and fails, I managed to get a v359.13 version working properly. I modded the inf by myseft experiencing methods grabbed from many sources. I must say that this is not as simple as some says... Every version, the infs to be modded changes and sometimes it works, sometime it don't. I then try to work with @J95, posting my difficulties on his inf mod dedicated thread. All his releases are dedicated to "non-optimus" clevo laptop and thus are not working out of the box with my P170EM. He kindly tried many hacks to make his modded drivers work with the P170EM without success. The only thing that work completly today is the v359.13.... And I had to revert back from the win10 anniversary edition to have at least the discrete GPU to be active. All my tries on drivers differents from 359.13 on non-anniversary edition of win10 would have the dx10/11 not working on discrete GPU or the dx9 not working on discrete GPU. I can't count the hours I spent DDU my drivers, modding, trying, failing, retring.... This is a real hassle. Now I don't even want to try the new driver... But sometime I need to upgrade, especially for the optimisation available for the new games I can buy. That's why I'm asking @Prema whether he could think about releasing the v3 BIOS for P170EM public ? I would also be OK with the option to be able to purchase it for a reasonable price. Thanks in advance for your reply !
  13. Hi all, I need your help !! I am very keen upgrade my Clevo to GTX 1070. They here http://www.eurocom.com/ec/upgrade(2,286,0)CLEVO_P150SM-A_SAGER_NP8268 say it is possible but it requires some "Unlocked BIOS and All Custom written drivers". My question is how to get those ?? I was looking for in the internet but I only found some references to premamod bios web site that does not seem to be operational any more. Please help !
  14. Hello everyone. Just got a used sager p157sm for a gpu upgrade project and noticed it beeps for a minute then shuts down by itself when under load. It does well when watching movies but when benchmarking the issue pops up. At first I thought it was the gpu so I unplugged it but still occurs. Now it's running only CPU and still does the same things after repasting. Temps of CPU remain along 80 - 87 degrees centigrade. I've cleaned system components and changed Ram modules and slots still nothing. Any help will be appreciated.
  15. Hi all, I've my GTX 970M working for a good while, but I decided to re-apply the thermal paste today because my card seemed to get a bit hot and my gaming would suffer from fps drops. I figured re-applying the thermal paste would work, but it didn't. I then uninstalled the drivers and tried reinstalling different drivers to see if they'd perform better, but for some reason my FPS is constantly below 60 FPS no matter what game it is. I've tried checking my settings in nVidia control panel, I tried flashing the vBios, I've changed countless settings to try and make it work but nothing is working. I also noticed that when I use Speed Fan, the GPU section doesn't consistently show my GPU temps. It stays at 0 Celsius for the most part, but then randomly reads 47 Celsius. Any ideas of what could be wrong or how to possibly fix this?
  16. Hi People reading this post,I've been having so many problems with the P640RE Def ||but in the last week or so random shutdowns while idle or gaming, I suspect it is motherboard 'cause when it shutdowns and I try to turn it back on it doesn't and have to wait some seconds also the charger needs to be replugged. On time varies for some reason. Sometimes it's 5 minutes or 8 hours?!!?!Google Fu is useless here!Thx,Abdullah
  17. Hi, I got a Sager NP8278 (Clevo P170SM) with a gtx970m 6GB. is there a way to have SLI or what are my upgrade options for the video card?
  18. Hello I have a problem with the Clevo P150 I have installed various drivers, old ones, Windows 7 SP1 , Widows 10 and the same problem. Graphics card error and no sleep and hibernation and trouble with Wi-Fi long time to connect around 4/5 min. After installing the drivers most often, the laptop stops responding when the Windows LOGO is displayed. It also happens that it will enter the desktop and then a black screen will appear with the cursor in the upper left corner. When trying to install new drivers, for example, Intel pops up a window: "Your computer does not meet the minimum hardware requirements" After analyzing the problem, I came to the conclusion that it was a power problem and it was not a fault of power supply or motherboard just Prema Bios. My version is: 1.02.17PM v2 Ver 4.6.5.3 If the bios is bad and you have the same opinion, then please provide a link to the latest version and explain step by step how to upload it. Another issue is graphics drivers Which drivers are best for HD7970m amd-catalyst-9.1.0.0 amd_catalyst-12.4.0 amd_catalyst-15.7.1 Or maybe with crimson you are acting eg amd crimson -17.7.2 Maybe I need to change the bios in the graphics card to the drivers from Crimson to work with HD7970m Let's know whether someone succeeded and thanks to him running Battlefield 1 If so please write down how to step by step. Clevo p170hm3 bios

Hi wondering if anyone can help! Pulling my hair out trying to find a new bios for my clevo p170hm3 laptop, was wanting to upgrade the bios to allow for a GPU upgrade from gtx 580m to a 780m with 3d screen. 20. Hello .My laptop (clevo p170em) have a problem. When powered on only show the power button light in white and the bluetooth in orange. Then show three blinking lights (num lock, caps lock, scroll lock) and the fan runs, and past few seconds then the laptop powered itself off. The screen always black you tell me what happens, or what does that code indicate? Best regardsIgnacio
  21. Hello. This might look like a strange question to ask but I would like to know if at this point it is worth it upgrading from a P750ZM to a P750DM-G ? My current specs are the best I could get in my ZM. -i7 4790K (overclocked) @ 4.3 GHZ -16 GB Ram Hyper X Impact DDR3 -GTX 980M custom Vbios (Overclocked) -2 x Samsung 950 Pro 500 Gb V-Nand SSD -1X 1TO SSHD (seagate) 7200. I was wondering if there is any advantage the DM has over the ZM are Intel 6 gen processors worth it over my i7 4790K ? Is there any advantage of having thunderbolt on a laptop that's already up-gradable ? Is there any other advantages of getting a DM-G at this point in time. I have been hearing a lot about 6 gen intel and the new 750DM-G's but I got my ZM expecting to keep it for at least two years upgrading to a top of the line PASCAL GPU along the way when those are available and when the bios updates are available before buying a new clevo barebone and transferring my GPU and SSD's into my new clevo system when I purchase it I was expecting to do this at around X-Mas 2016-Early 2017. Is there any good reason for upgrading before end 2016 early 2017 ? I am currently torn between sending the money in this hobby or in another one (film photography)..... Thank you in advance for your help and advice !
  22. I was looking for new drivers for my p750dm2-g and stumbled across this.. [PM me for the link] I thought I'd share.
  23. Hi, would anyone here have a clevo notebook w/ the quadro m5000m, and be willing to share the m5000m vBIOS with me? I need to flash a clevo vbios on my m5000m. Thanks!
  24. I am looking for information on the procedures to replace the integrated BIOS Logo on several laptops. The model numbers are the P650HP6-G, and P650HS6-G. In the past, we have been able to replace the logo on those BIOS's using an Asus BIOS Logo tool, and Secure ROM Signing tool successfully. However, with newer BIOS updates, I have been getting an error message "18-Error: Secure Flash ROM Verify Fail." So I have been staying with older BIOS versions instead of trying to force a bad flash. The P650HS is still using a .BIN for the main BIOS flash file, however, the P650HP6-G has changed from a .ROM to a .8M or .04 file, depending on which method of flash used. One file size is very different from the other (most likely because of a combined ME and BIOS flash code in one file. The trouble is, I am unsure whether these are to be seen as a normal BIN or ROM file, just named differently, or as a completely different type of file. I am using the BIOS flash file that is used only for the BIOS, which should be free from abnormal code arrangement for multiple components. I am in need of an appropriate Logo replacement utility, as well as the digital signature utility for Secure boot. If there is the matter of having a valid key assigned to the company for this purpose, I can present that to my managers for their follow up.
