Hello everyone, I own an Acer Nitro 5 AN515-44-R2ZW (model code NH.Q9GER.00G) and am considering connecting an external GPU, ideally an RTX 3060 or better. Since my laptop doesn’t have Thunderbolt, a simple solution is off the table. As far as I understand, it has an NVMe PCIe SSD with PCIe 3.0 x4, which theoretically could be used to connect a GPU via adapters. Based on what I’ve read online, this setup should result in only a 10-15% performance loss. However, theory and practice often differ. What potential issues might arise during this upgrade? For instance, I’ve heard that some BIOS setups have a whitelist that blocks non-standard connected devices. But from what I’ve seen, users have successfully swapped Wi-Fi modules in my laptop model, which suggests this kind of restriction might not apply in my case. That said, other problems could still occur — for example, the laptop might not recognize the GPU, or something else might go wrong. I’d like to hear your opinion on this topic. And if this upgrade is indeed feasible, could you recommend where to find high-quality adapters? Ideally, I’d like something that allows part of the adapter to be fixed into the laptop’s body, with a cover for the slot. This way, I could use my laptop on the go, and when at home, I could connect the bulky GPU setup without having to disassemble the laptop every time. -

Hi, so, after saerching around for workrounds to disable the igpu on the alienware 15 r3, I found someone who said there was a bios unlock here on tech inferno, after an unsuccessful search I came to create this topic in hopes to find a unlocked bios mod or somerthing for the alienware 15 r3, any help is appreciated

Hello, I've bought wwan card for my Lenovo thinkpad x280, but after installation I've got an error "1802 unauthorized network card is plugged system halted". How to remove whitelist. Hello everyone, I would like to be able to unlock all possible bios functions in Acer V3-771G, InsydeH20 Rev. 3.7, Bios ver.2.28, Intel GOP Driver: 3.0.12.1012. I read that you need to make a BIOS dump first, but I don't know how to do it. I am kindly asking for help. Best regards, Michael

I recently purchased an aftermarket external battery for my Lenovo X250. However, it appears that Lenovo does not allow me to use it. Can you assist me in modifying my BIOS so that I can utilize it? Hello All, MY Sager NP8651/Clevo P650SE laptop with a Samsung 850 EVO SSD suddenly takes about 3-5 minutes to boot up to the OS whether it's Windows or Linux. I had never flashed a firmware update and on contacting Sager support, who were helpful, provided me with the latest BIOS and EC firmware. I used the MS-DOS and the windows version of the BIOS updater, but it wouldn't update the BIOS. I would get an error. The error log is below: The EC flash worked and it's currently on v1.05. But my BIOS is at v1.03.06RLS11.03 As per the Sager support, the BIOS chip is corrupted and I'll need to ship it to the factory for getting it fixed, which will cost a lot. I tried to flash with the BIOS from the below thread, but it too didn't work. And before anybody asks, I followed the instructions to a T, especially running Meset.exe first and then flashme. Is there a way I can wipe the BIOS clean and flash the latest BIOS? I'm OK with installing a Modded BIOS as well. @Klem - Please don't mind, I'm tagging you for your help as you recently helped someone with another issue but the same laptop model. Regards, Nuttty

Hello, as the title states, I would be very happy if someone could give me the link to the mod, apart from that, what version should I install?, as I've seen that some models have v1 and v2. My other questions are: what do I have to do to install a new GPU?, (9xx series) And what mods do I have to use to have a 10x0 series (and which are compatible). I have the Clevo P150SM(model)/P150SM-A(product code) (2 models on the sticker) with stock bios (it says copyright 2012, so I guess it's the 1st version) with a 4710MQ and 870M. Hello guys I've got a pretty weird problem with my M18x R2. I already searched the web but couldn't find an answer. A few days ago I changed some settings in the bios, if I remember correctly DMVT Pre-Allocated. After saving this setting the notebook refuses to even POST. I get no beep errors or anything. If I press the power button the system turns on, the leds turn on and then the system shuts itself off. I already reset the cmos, the IME, tested different configurations and so on. If I remove all the memory sticks I actually get the memory error code. At this point I'm pretty sure that the bios got corrupted for some reason when saving these mentioned settings. Did anyone had a similar problem and got a solution for this? I repaired lot's of notebook but never had an error like this... The Bios installed is the a15 unlocked.

I've been scouring the internet in search of anything regarding an updated bios for my Clevo P170SM. I have found many mentions of Prema Bios mods on various websites, but good luck trying to find actual download links. They all seem to vanish or have dead links. Wayback Machine doesn't help either and I was only able to find stock Clevo bios as early as 2015 via the WayBack Machine. If anybody has an updates Prema Bios or some other unlocked bios file for the P170SM, that would be fantastic! Otherwise, I might have to consider paying over $100 to Eurocom for their unlocked bios.

Hello I upgraded my old laptop with i7-3632qm and its working fine, temps are ok but he wont boost. Lenovo g500s could be bought with i7-3632qm and it had same cooling as was 2020m so i dont think cooling is problem. Can i bios unlock? I cant acces advanced settings in bios. i need help thanks -

i want to ask two favours and a question from this community .. 1.) Can someone mod my 940 mx to increase the target temperature and allow higher overclocking than 135hzband voltage control 2.) Allowing my i5 7200U to be undervolted to reduce overall heat The question : I repasted my gpu and cpu cleaned it thoroughly, made sure twice everything is connected properly, use a cooling pad and yet the upper portion of my chasis above f1-f12 keys is so hot that i can roast peanuts on it. (if i left out any info or missed something please reply i would really love to have a page that has everything for people who have this laptop specifically for light gaming.)
