Regarding the RAM OC (via XMP Profile), is this safe/stable to perform on top of a CPU OC (Multiplier + BCLK)? Just curious cause your post did mention benchmarking RAM on a 3720 instead of a 3630 due to workload/stress.

Yeah. I did some reading and found out that the problem is just with Staples. Best Buy, Fry's, Office Depot, etc. are all delivering. Walmart just flat out denied the price matching.

Tried going to Best Buy. The problem is that they're out of stock even online. People were buying in bundles! Would've gotten two GTX970s, and traded them for a GTX980 Ti. lol.

Ok I understand that the Flash Descriptor is for Port combinations (x2.2) and requires a Pin Mod, while flashing a modified ME Firmware allows for BCLK OC c/o XTU slider. Could you please help clarify a few things for me? This UEFI variable 0x228 unlocks the ability to flash a (modified) ME firmware over the current one, right? But it undoes the command/re-locks itself after a sleep cyle/reboot. When UEFI variable 0x228 reverts back to locked/disabled, do we get to keep the newly flashed ME and its OC settings, or do we have to re-flash ME every boot? In the event I set the BCLK OC too high, what bad will happen and how do I troubleshoot/revert the changes? Unlike the +400Mhz tweak, this BCLK OC sounds like it has a greater risk involved so forgive me for erring on the side of caution here.

I don't mind a cancellation if they are honest enough to admit that they are short on stock. BUT, if someone can order at full price and receive the item, then this act of deception is grounds for a legal battle.

Sorry to hear about that. If they are really out of stock, then they should update the webpage. And since the deal of Microcenter is still online, they should definitely price match. EDIT: And here we go..I got a call from Staples too regarding cancellation. Can anyone confirm if buying the same item at full price will get your order cancelled? You don't have to go to a Microcenter. People from Seattle have received their cards and they're the furthest state from a Microcenter. @mw86 probably went to the closest Best Buy/Staples/Fry's and showed them the link. You guys upstate might even have the advantage because the employees there have not been badgered as much by customers and may be willing to do a price match for you.

Nice one! You should've bought some coupons too! Staples had a few $75 ones selling for $50 on Ebay. This definitely is a deal of a lifetime. Even if you buy two GTX980s for SLI, you don't even pay the full price of one!

Crazy, right? You actually don't have to buy it from Microcenter itself. Any Best Buy, Staples, Fry's, etc. should offer a price match. They drop their own prices to match Microcenter's discounted price. (Here's an example) And to top it off, you can actually use some of the competitor's discount vouchers (like the Staples $75 coupon for $50) to get it for less than $200!

Just to be clear on instructions: Run Throttlestop, check max Multiplier achieved Edit UEFI variables by adding 4 bin to the max multiplier (If upgrademonkey is correct, then it's x37 -> x41 1-C, x40 2-C, x39 4-C) Reboot XTU BCLK OC (A bit of Trial and Error, but is 104.7Mhz @ x40 a good starting point. I wouldn't know how to reverse the bricking/BSOD) Reboot Hope to get this OC working soon.

Thank you so much! This was very helpful indeed.. My CPU isn't an OEM version and throttles at x33 during my Throttlestop benchmarking. Should I go for the x42 (4 bins above my CPU's theoretical max), or x37 (4 bins above my CPU's real world max)? This was done on my HP 2570p.

Thank you @timohour, I read the [GUIDE] Dell E6530 CPU TDP/multi unlocking and am trying to understand the actual steps involved. My (Simplified) Steps in CPU TDP/Multi Unlocking: Obtain the IFR file (E6430-A07_IFR.txt) Obtain the NVRAM tool (http://brains.by/posts/bootx64.7z) Format a USB thumb drive to FAT32 and place the bootx64.efi file in the EFI\Boot\ folder. Boot to EFI on Startup (Pressing F12) Load the bootx64.efi (Loads Grub) Overclock by assigning new values to certain NVRAM addresses (using the "setup_var address value" command) Reboot Just a few questions regarding step 6 that I hope you don't mind answering.. How would I know what the ideal core limit is? Do I assign in increments and do trial and error, or should I be watching out for something here? What is that adjusting/balancing of multiplier in relation to the BCLK OC headroom all about? Can I use the 99% CPU usage setting to prevent the overclock when not needing max performance? So sorry, but I just couldn't follow how you chose 1C=40, 2C=39, 4C=38 as your stable core limits, moreso that part with BCLK OC headroom in your post. Thanks a lot!

Thank you guys. So x4.2 is the closest we can hope for then. How do you enable the ASPMs via UEFI variables? Planning also to migrate to Windows 10 so I might go the UEFI route too over MBR+Setup 1.30.

Oh nice. Does this also mean that you can theoretically have eGPU SLI: x2.2 with the mPCIe slots, and x2.2 with the ODD/Sata+EC?

Regarding GTX770 working better than GTX 970, I meant the PCIe allocation of the GTX770 allowed PnP on the 2570P without modification. Thank you @timohour. Referring to that "GTX770 working better" issue, I mean Plug n' Playability. It was mentioned before that a GTX970/80 requires contiguous 256MB block for PCIe allocation. Will this cause any problem on the [email protected], or is this solved by the 2Gb TOLUD tweak? Do I also have to solder the cable connector to the eGPU port to maximize performance and stability? Or will it stay problem-free as is? Thank you!

For an Ivybridge notebook, does a Samsung 850 EVO offer anything better than the 840 EVO? We don't have DEVSLP implemented, so I imagine an Samsung 840 EVO/PRO to be the better SSD to have. Also, is the PE4C v2.1 @x2.2 (mCPIe) the best way we can maximize our eGPU at the moment? Will it handle a GTX970 better now than a GTX770? (GTX770 was working better than GTX970 @x1.2opt). Maybe Tech Inferno Fan can help sort this one out for future e6430 users. Thank you so much for all the help and steady progress being made here.

Now I'm really excited for 2016! With all these announcements (Skylake, TB3+eGPU, 512Gb micro SDXC, etc.) would the NUC have a fighting chance at gaming?
