I bought the Y500 and am very happy with it, with the exception of the locked/whitelisted BIOS. The backlight on the keyboard can be dimmed or turned off, so you can use it for business applications (I do, at least. It fits all my needs.)

I bought mine at Frys.com for $1098. They seem to keep them in stock.

Thank you so much. Mine came with a POS Intel PCI Half-Mini wifi card - Backtrack 5 resolutely refused to play with. Gonna load up this BIOS and pop in my Atheros hacking wifi card.
