Matte screen for sure. only issue I have with my lenovo. wish it was a matte. wonder about getting a screen protector in a matte finish like iphone etc. anyone done this?

Yes greatben this bios will allow overclocking of the video card. As an aside in regards to the hd4000 issues.. other systems ( alienware) require a reboot to switch to onboard gpu. I'll fiddle hopefully without breaking when I can get my bios modded.

There are people who have overclocked 650 single and 650 sli. requires an unlocked bios. the unlocked bios you can find in this forum. as for the overclocking a search for y500 sli overclock should get you the information your looking for.

You might just have a bad bios chip. I had one fail on a previous motherboard and the symptoms were the same. Send it in for warranty and tell them it went wonky when you flashed.

Your computer power settings force it to shed to maximize battery life. you could try playing with your power management settings.
