  1. Overclocking too much may also cause this type of problem, tho.
  2. Somebody has already tried, when you put a 650m ultrabay card into a 750m Y500, the laptop won't startup, saying "you are not using an authorized graphics card, please remove it", or something like that. This is exactly the same behavior as when you plug in a different WLAN card. So there is a white list for graphics cards as well.
  3. I guess Lenovo had put some whitelist restrictions on what devices can be used on the Ultrabay port, for example, the new Y500 with 750m graphics card cannot use the older 650m ultrabay card.
  4. Does this Modified BIOS allow overclocking the video card?
