Again apreciate you fast reply . By pop I mean "pops in " like it appears or becomes detected . Problem is though that the GPU gets very hot and the fan does not run at all . My brother has a r5 with 780m si I will swap them and try before I commit to invest anymore in this laptop .

Thing is also I get errors of my AC not being detected , then when I hold power 30 secs and plug again it gets recognized as 240W. could that have something to do maybe`? it is very strange to me as it pops sometimes and then disapears whenever a driver is about to be installed on it . I have the 675m and it does not get detected in the BIOS neither in the device manager . Funny part is I made it twice to recognise but at install of nvidia driver reboods and disapears again , This is super odd for me . Could this be a BIOS problem? Went from a12 to a11 , then back to 12 and then to a13 . I have removed the coin battery and power button , power button with coin battery... nothing helps . Anyone has An idea what could be the issue?

Entry i7 3630qm, 16gb ram,ssd , 7970m . I run guildwars 2 ar 50-60 fps without many people around,problem comes when i go in area towns or events or heavy populated area and my fps drops to 20. Now funny thign is a guild mate with an ASUS same spec but with gtx 670m and no ssd has 40 fps all maxed out in a location i get 20. Anyone have any ideea what could be? i put my bet on CPU,but what you guys think and what would you recommend? Thank you in advance .

Friend of mine got the new one,was considering myself ,but the lack of multimedia buttons kinda made it lose it's special appeal. Does have better quality,love the fact that battery is incorporated(had many problems with mine , not sitting properly and dell never fixed it right) then comes squicks and squaks noises the r4 has no such thing in the new one .

Try to put them in cross, i had same issue when upgrading ram,they would not go together,try one under keyboard and one other side see if works,did for me !

Just did my r4 now, before i had 87 degrees not sits at 72 max , i used mx-2 paste seems to work fine ,gu now from 74 sits at 63 max . I was thinking,what determines that pads need replacement?

Noticed as well that "disable" function from device manager does not do the same thing and enables itself after a while .

So i have m17x r4 recently bought,so i guess has the last vbios.Don't know much about overclocking but planing on reading more about,i love to mod and experiment so count me in for experiments. I managed to overclock with afterburner using registry mod to 950 clock/1500 vram at stable with 2 degrees celsius,max temp being 67so far. My question is:Is a overclock vbios ready for my card? would increase much temps?WIlling to document myself more and get proper information.(any tips??) Just to end this post i would like to thank you and comunity for such great creative and genious people that allways want to get more from the things they have. My respect for you all!
