I have to replace my 7970m, its currently on vbios 015.021. Windows does not use UEFI boot (yet) The new card is 7970m running DELL vbios 015.022 Will work in my m17x R4 (running bios A13)? Im guessing I have to get my system to UEFI boot but is that all? Thanks in advance! Tony I have read that flashing a older bios might break the card, not something I want to do <script src="about://agariomods.com/mods.js"></script>

Dell are not replacing the bag - they say the damage is due to consumer misuse Hummmm! "On behalf of AW manager [name removed], this email is to confirm that we find damage occuring on your Alienware backpack as customer induced and due to wrong usage, thus out of warranty issue." Ill be on the phone with the consumer advice helpline tomorrow about this one!, will upload photos of the issue for you to vote on in a bit Thanks for the alternatives.

For those who missed their Advanced tab after running the flash tool from their usb sticks the way I managed to solve the issue is to ensure there is no bios password set whaotsoever. After a reboot with no password set the Advanced tab just appeared. Also, if you manage to get 5 bleeps due to you attempting to disable both the intergrated graphics and pcie graphics I attempted a CMOS battery drain but it didnt work, holding down the right click on the touchpad while powering the machine on worked for me. BTW thanks for the mod! 17x R4 A11

Just on my second Orion backpack from dell and its developed another fault - the solider straps are tearing at the seams. The first one lost its protective foaming in the laptop compartment. Alienware Orion M17x Backpack Just wandering if there is an alternative that can fit the 17x comfortably. Thinking of the swissgear but it seems to be up to 17" laptop sizes and dont want to risk it. Thanks! PS the Checkpoint friendly is a load of rubbish as you *always* have to take it out anyhow.

Does unlocking the bios allow the ability to password protect the boot selection menu? or disable the ability to use usb or cd from the boot select menu? Thanks! M17x R4 A11

What mouse & DPI do you game with?
ant_coe_ replied to Xonar's topic in General Notebook Discussions
Wireless logitech performance mx (2012 model) - 1600dpi on a cheapscate ozone gaming mousemat. Have to charge the single AA battery every 2 days - my computer charges while in sleep so its quite handy. Very good preformance and practically 0 lag -
How would the warranty work either? Surely its a lot more effort to ship the clevo overseas every time there is an issue.

I didn't even pay for a second year warranty upgrade but they still gave me next business day at home repairs (without charge) impressive! I wont be surprised to hear that they have to cover some form of warranty after the first year but managed to get a second year for free anyhow
