Hello svl7, Many thanks, Win 8 and 801 bios mod and working like a charm. Laptops are usually a let down in the bios but your mod makes my Y580 look like a desktop! I've read the entire thread and I'm being really cautious on changing anything. I wanted to mod for a reason I haven't seen. I just wanted to have higher fan speeds as I figured there was too much heat when gaming. Is there anything you know of that might cause trouble in the thermal settings?
