  1. This modded bios will not let you overclock most CPU´s of your one is one of many. Only the i7XM chips can be overclocked and a few special chips like some ES chips. You cannot OC the A10 as far as i know. If you want to OC your 7970m you have to get an modded VBIOS. I got a question regarding your unlocked BIOS Xonar. I was wondering what the Intel ICC overclock thing is for. What can you do with it? Only a few of those options below are adjustable. Something in me says it got great potential to do things with (say things about the FSB there). I dont know what it is tho and how to use it so i hope to hear from you
  2. Gave them the credits as they taught me how to do it Just wanted to let people know i didnt do it all by myself. For now the program is working fine for me. I actuay dont game with my laptop at all i only use the OC for benchmarking. Yeah it is a pitty you cannot adjust the clock votlage. I am really needing to get a bit more power in order to set some sweet benchmarking scores. Im looking forward to the new vbios. If i can do internation payments i´ll get you a beer Just want to claim the #1 spot for the 650m.
  3. at slv7. In your fist post you say you cannot get a bigger overclock than 135MHz with NVinspector. (credits to Mobius1 and JamesD on NBR) I actualy got to 1150MHz with NVinspector on my 650m (stock 835 so that is a 315MHz overclock) on my old 306.97 driver. If you do it right there are no limitations in the program except the voltage. You gotta make some batch files with the right information about clocks etc. THen you just execute that file and your clocks are raised. The problem is you cannot adjust the voltage of the chip so you cannot go further than (on my chip) 315MHz which is a shame as the chip got loads more potential. This resulted in the highest 3dmark vantage score for i5 and 650m. Got 1 point short of the 4th spot on 3dmark11 with that OC. But i want to claim the first spot I am running low on voltage tho. Whenever i try to OC past 1150MHz my machine freezes due to too little power. Has a modded vbios for the MSi GE60 with 650m GDDR5 2gb been made by anyone?
  4. When you are only stresstesting with it no problem. But if you run at a higher voltage like 24/7 your chip is very much likely to die earlyer. Personaly i dont have experience with chips dying, i heared it from someone else Great that your problem is fixed. I wanted to say if it were a battery issue, but thought you would have already checked it
  5. By how much did you overvolt your CPU? From what i have heared running often with a higher voltage can easaly brick your motherboard. GIven your laptop wont start at all i suspect it is not the GPU that broke. Company´s might not be that kind to you as you did some OC with your machine. Company´s say you can at own risk but your warrenty will be void. If i were you i´d ask a friend/relative/acquintance who knows a lot about computers to have a look and ask for his expert opinion first
  6. Hi, I came here from NBR (got the same name so some might recognize me) I got interested in computers when i bought my MSI GE60. I have been overclocking it for a bit but want to take it to the next level (currently got the highest 3dmark vantage score for i5 and 650m) So i signed up here to learn about advanced overclocking I heared at NBR this was the place to learn about tweaking the vbios and stuff like that. Cheers, Daniel
  7. I was wondering as i have run some benchmarks the other day. What i saw when i upgraded the core clock and memory clock lets say by 30% i only saw a 20% gain in benchmark scores. Has anyone got a good explanation for this difference in the clock/score ratio? Could this be the case of running short on GPU voltage?
  8. I agree with what is said above. The P370em is still very heavy. THe P150em you mentioned is indeed a good option as well. It is around the 3kg which makes decent for carrying around. You´d have to sacrifise the dual GPU config tho. But still a P150em with i7 3840Qm or 3940XM, 16gb RAM and a 680m is a very powerfull notebook. It is also pretty well priced at prices at around 2000 usd for the 3840QM, 680m, 95% gamut screen and 16gb of ram.
  9. The Y580 doesnt always come with a full HD screen. As i experienced for myself having a full HD screen is a really bonus. It gives better viewing as you cannot see pixels anymore and even increases your productivity as more text fits on your screen. Gaming Laptops - XOTIC PC - Gaming Notebooks - Custom Laptops - Custom Notebooks Have a browse through this site it really got a wide variety of gaming laptops Sager NP6350 / Clevo W350ETQ - XOTIC PC - 15.6" Custom Gaming Laptop I´d recommend this laptop. It comes with full HD panel, faster 7.200RPM HDD and 660m graphics. Its a good machine at a decent price
