  1. That's good news! I hope you enjoy your laptop without issues now that everything is up and running!
  2. Yeah, I"m still sitting on the fence about reinstalling windows 8 again. But I'm thinking I'm still going to give it another go. I'm getting well versed in formatting and starting from scratch at this point. It's not as scary a concept as it was prior to my issues.
  3. I'm using the Resource CD driver's except for my Nvidia drivers. I'll not update any until after the upgrade this time. If there are no problems I'll probably just leave them as is unless there are some major improvements in a new driver release for a device I have. I'm hoping my current wireless drivers function fine and require no updating. I'm a little OCD with my drivers and that sometimes get's me into the kind of trouble I encountered the first time around.
  4. I installed Windows 8 when I received my M14x R2, and loved the performance of Windows 8. I ran into driver problems with Windows 8 and the non-dell Killer Wireless drivers causing me to revert back to Windows 7 to correct the issues. I'm keeping Windows 7 for a week or so to see if I run into anymore issues with the card and then I'll be moving back to Windows 8. I actually enjoy the new UI as well as the performance increase. After 3 weeks of using Windows 8 I found myself navigating my reinstall of Windows 7 as if it were 8. That of course didn't work but goes to show of fast you pick up new ways to use OS's if you're interested in doing so.
  5. I just downloaded the A10 from the Dell driver's page. Flashed it and it's up and running. No problems so far.
  6. Sorry to hear that man. I also have had some strange problems from the get go, one being the Killer Wireless Network card seemingly losing connection and upon attempting a reconnect having windows 8 crash. In the end I had to fresh install windows 7 to get things back up and working again. I hope it works out for you.
  7. Hello all. Received my new R2 for Christmas and promptly updated to Windows 8. Everything was going well with the computer and then it had a problem with the Network card. Still not sure what occurred that caused the Killer Wireless to melt down but it would not connect and Windows 8 gave me the, "Your PC encountered a problem, gathering information to forward to Microsoft" and then it would reboot. Tried a system restore but that caused Windows 8 to not boot up anymore. Did a complete reinstall of Windows 7 that came with the R2 and ended up getting everything back up and running again without issue in Windows 7. I'll not mess around with the Network card drivers this time around and after a week I'll try to upgrade back into Windows 8 again.
