  1. Awesome! PM me your paypal address. I'm a man of my word! Thanks for this contribution. I hope you continue to throw up a few more videos for us. Thanks again!
  2. I had drawn and measured a design with parts from HWTools that would allow me to remove the VGA port and place a extension adapter in its place. So off of the card itself would be a 4" cable that went into the adapter inside. Then it would be plug and play externally with a 30 sized cable. Their engineers said I would suffer no bad with loss with this setup at 30 cable max. Hmmm...
  3. I'd be willing to buy a beer via paypal for a five minute YouTube video showing us bit internal and external performance!
  4. Are these numbers with the internal screen or external? Thinking about picking up a Razor Blade 14, but I still am not sure I want to sell my SVZ for it. Thanks MikjoA!
  5. Have you tested Battlefield 4 yet? I still have my SVZ, and have been tempted to get off my ass and finally do this.
  6. I'm going to message Tech Inferno Fan and see if he's up to testing it.
  7. Nando, If one were to use the tape method, what drawbacks would there be? Just by looking over data from other setups (Like the Z) the DX10/11 scores seem to be pretty close. Would this effectively just balance the setup to 1x without side effects? Thanks!
  8. After looking through the data and results, it appears to currently only offer incremental advantages to dx10 & 11 games. It's the plug and play that's most appealing without having to open or mod your system.
  9. I am confused about these results. This link has results with an eGPU on Sony Z connected to the pci slot. http://www.3dmark.com/3dmv/4315228 When I compare them to boony1's on the first page of this thread, it seems to be 4000 points faster. I was under the impression that the TH05 thunderbolt implementation was superior. Sorry if the answer is plain as day. Still trying to learn how to digest the data correctly.
  10. Are you having to use an additional power supply or only the one supplied with the Sonnet? Also, is everything sealed up in the Sonnet, or do you have to have it open to jump the PSU? Send us a Pic or post a YouTube please. I think it would really help some if us that are stuck in the dark. Thanks!
  11. What about the SWEX connector? Is that not required for the setup? I only ask because I don't see a plug for it in his pictures. Is this PSU any better than the 210 Xbox? I too like the PE4H 3.2 but have two issues with it. 1. Non detachable cable 2. Two PSU needed.
  12. Is there a solution that works with the internal monitor like the TH05? What other solutions are out there that work with the same performance as the TH05?
  13. I will give you $400 for you TH05. Message me
  14. Looked at their site again hoping for an update. An updated PM3N and the new PE4H would work great together. Although, it still reads on the top that the PM3N is a Gen 1 product, but then below if I choose the Gen 2 PE4H-EC060a, it give me the option to order the PM3N version 1.2. This says the PM3N is good when hooked to a 2.0 device.. http://www.hwtools.net/Adapter/PE4L.html This contradicts.. http://www.hwtools.net/Adapter/PE4H.html Weird
  15. Hate to do this, it's tacky. If anyone wants to get rid of their TH05, I will be waiting to pick it up from you. Shoot me a PM Thanks!
  16. Sounds good! Is there any speed gain included in with this revision. Technically speaking, is the only gain having the detachable plug on the PE4H? In my application, I would love to have a detachable plug on the PCI-e end. This way, I would not worry about removing the card and could be a little more careless with it. BPlus sells an adapter that worked this way before with slower speeds. MikjoA says it was beta tested at 2.0, buy failed its compliance tests. I have access to a 3D printer and would love to either replace a jack I don't use, or create one with a female end. This way I could have the hot plug ready at all times. Do you know if Bplus would make a custom length P4LE? And if so, could I buy just an extension to bridge from laptop to video card? I don't know if this would interfere with the signal and cause issues. Thanks!
  17. Nando. Were you able to get confirmation on this? I am about to attempt a eGPU setup on my Sony SVZ. Was going to order a PE4L-PM200A, but it looks like this would be the better route. Interestingly enough, they don't have the PM200A in stock, just the PM060A Thanks again Nando!
  18. Let's see what Netstor can do for us. I have sent them a direct link to this thread hoping they will be able to get a better grasp on our needs. (At their request) Netstor, you are welcomed to openly ask any questions you might have. Registration in this forum is easy and free.
  19. Thinking of sending the rMBP back. :/ Looks like the only way to get the eGPU working is with the TH05. I have posted several places offering $450 shipped even without luck. :/ It's really disappointing. I can still attempt the PL4E mod on the rMBP. Although, there's no telling if that will even work. Still have my SVZ still and it's an option. MikjoA has proven that to work, but still I'd regather have the MBP. Although, I have thought about getting a 15" rMBP and wait it out. However, just don't want to tote that larger footprint around. (Too large for tight working conditions) What to do ladies and gentlemen?
  20. I agree with you there. Sent an email over to see if this would be possible. If they don't want to do this, is it really that easy to complete? Is this something easily detectable and installed?
  21. This is what I received back. I did respond once more to see if they knew what the shipped setting would be. Waiting for that reply. "Now the PERST# is not settable. And we are not allowed to sell the board alone, since both Apple and Intel are approval our products in complete units." Now, on to the noob questions. What does this mean for me? Will I need to run it under windows with rEFI? I hope it does not mean I'm SOL. :/
  22. Awesome! BO2 is one I would like to see at native resolution. It runs @ 60/70 FPS on the 650m without shaders and low FOV @1080p.
  23. Hey Nando, Wish I could get my hands on a TH05, but no such luck. Thats sounds about right. The business will pay for half of it. However, it's absolutely, 1000%, grossly overpriced. Although, if their willing to make me a single box, with one cord, I will be the tester for the rest of us. Perhaps if they are willing to help the community, we could get a bulk price. Just sent the request over to Netstor. Brian has been pretty quick at getting back with me. Will keep you posted.
