  1. Hi, do you have a photo of the 1070 card you used? i'm searching for one, but i've seen 2 different sizes and want to make sure i buy the right one
  2. Cool, let me know how you go, i'm 99.9% sure that the 980m GPU i had was faulty, but i might go the 1060 route in the future when i want to try again
  3. Hi All, I've managed to pick up a Clevo P170SM-A pretty cheap, which i've upgraded the BIOS to the latest available stock bios which is: VERSION: 1.03.11 KBC/EC: 1.03.09 Currently the laptop is running a GTX 880m which is operating completely fine, but i've been looking to upgrade it to a 980m after seeing some success stories around the internet and noticing that the NVIDIA drivers are no longer updated for the 880m, so i ordered one, installed it, now i've been having severe issues afterwards and want to know for sure if its something i'm doing wrong (bit a of novice when it comes to upgrading laptops) and not that the card is faulty or something. Windows does apply drivers and i see GeForce GTX 980m in the Device Manager with no errors, so its recognizing the card, however after about 2 minutes-ish the system starts locking up/freezing for long periods of time and i cant do anything with it while the card is installed, currently i've got the 880m back in til i figure out whats wrong - Do i need a modded inf driver to make it work correctly? even if the NVIDIA driver applied itself? - Is my 230w power supply enough for the 980m vs the 880m? - Would i need a different vBios perhaps? even if its showing up in windows correctly? - Would i need to reset anything BIOS-wise (removing CMOS battery, reflashing the bios version etc) after installing the new card? Greatly appreciate the help on this one, card was abit costly so i'd hate to have wasted all that money on it, willing to try any suggestions
