  1. I had a similar issue with my Kingston, constant BSODs. I thought it was a BIOS / SATA issue (running A08, stock), but after much pulling my hair out today, I found my SSD had another update (I had just updated it a few months ago) - it's a Kingston, but apparently Sandforce has been having issues with their controllers and shipped a fix to the SSD makers. I would definitely recommend a firmware update, mine was a simple update through windows (taking life into my own hands, had I frozen during this process, it might not have ended well), but afterward - NO crashes at all... I've been running stably now for the last hour and a half (and it was crashing every 5-15 mins before).
  2. My CPU runs at about 56-60 when idle, peaks at 93 (Celsius) when I benchmark. This is using the Intel video. I plan on disemboweling my laptop and reapplying heat sink paste, along with a WiFi upgrade and various cleanup since I've had it for over a year now and warranty is up. I've been having some freezing, but I think it's drive related, not heat related (I'm waiting for my 5 posts to download the A08 w/ SATA fix BIOS to hopefully fix it).
  3. I installed an SSD as my secondary drive shortly after getting my m14x, but I kept getting BSODs so I moved the SSD to the main drive and made my regular drive external. This seemed to have helped, but now I'm having issues again so I'm going to try the A08 w/ SATA fix BIOS (once I have the ability to download things).
  4. I've got an M14x R1 and am considering getting an R2 motherboard if the BIOS A08 unlocked with SATA fix doesn't resolve my issues. Has anyone done this? Any issues with this? (I haven't had a chance to test the new BIOS as I'm still working towards my 5 posts to be able to, but that might resolve my issue?)
  5. Might also be related to a BIOS / SATA issue. I've been having BSODs with a Kingston SSD as well. I plan on trying out the A08 unlocked BIOS with SATA fix as soon as I get to 5 posts. XD
