[G75VW] - modified BIOS & VBIOS for higher overclocking
HankGunn replied to svl7's topic in ASUS Gaming Notebook Forum
I'll let you know when I can download it. I've been messing with this laptop for years now and it's finally time to say 'screw it' and mess with a modded bios. Can you disable the HPET with this thing? That's what I really want to do. -
Integrated networking devices usually add a fair bit of input latency over an extra card. Go for the card if in doubt.

Is there any benefit to this at all if you're not OCing and things are running smoothly?

Take it from someone who has been PC gaming 20+ years: Get something that is the most comfortable. All I do is play guitar and game and my fingers are starting to feel it. I find myself having to take days off from both and it sucks. Get something ergonomic.

What res did you use? You can look up the optimal configs for each one at sites like this. http://tinyvga.com/vga-timing/1280x960@75Hz Obviously that's just for 1280x960 but basically you can optimize the display by using the correct pixels for the resolution and then changing your timings like where it says in CRU 'CRT standard' or 'CRT reduced. You can also use the NVIDIA Pixel Clock Catcher or similar to turn off the bandwidth limit on your connection to your display.

What do you play? The extra refresh rate is essential for stuff like CSGO while the extra resolution would be nice for less twitch based shooters.
