  1. @AllanDavidson why would you need a new adapter? just get an extension cable and run that from the adapter to a seperate case
  2. For those of you who don't care about your secondary graphics card anymore, you can dissasemble the card and use the case with padding / velcro strips to house the adapter fairly easily. You just need to make sure you bend some tabs out the way and line up the connection in the same way. Its similar to an earlier post I saw, just without the hard drive connection. I used chair tips (protection for chairs against floors) for spacing and that strong velcro strip stuff that has a a strong glue stick to it on either side for securing the adapter inside the 750m ultrabay graphics card housing. Everything is much more secure this way as the housing still locks in the same way as the old GPU did. If I really cared I would run a PCI extention but my setup is pretty sturdy and is in a safe location where things won't get bumped.
  3. Nvidia has better deals currently. I'll be trading my AMD card if you find a solution
  4. @Tesla Sorry to bother again but with the new updated model Gerald makes, the bios version change now is unneccesarry. Would there be any way you could edit or add that to your instructions list? I downgraded my bios after updating only to realize after forum browsing that I didn't need to downgrade anymore. It's nice to have the newer bios, maybe thats just me though
  5. @Andrew54 I'm sorry for your trouble, have you gotten anywhere? I bring your name up because I have an idea to what the problem may be (one that you may have thought of already and ruled out). Sadly there isn't a good solution but maybe your UltraBay connection port is damaged or at the very least finnicky, or some other internal connection is compromised in some way. Who knows, sorry thats all I got. Have you tried a new adapter? I bet Gerald would swap with you if you ship it back to him for a new one, though i won't speak for him . I know how painful it is to put time into a project and not get results. On a new topic, I pretty much read through the entire forums and didn't come across what I want to share now: Somehow implementing the following video with Gerald's adapter to enable Nvidia cards. Keep in mind this is a total Hail-Mary/brainstorm idea that probably won't work (I have little hardware/bios experience).... But anyways, in this video I see an Nvidia card recently being used with the y510p and YES I KNOW IT IS NOT GERALD's ADAPTER. As I don't know much about configuring the hardware and bios at all, not to mention I DONT SPEAK RUSSIAN, this is a pretty far fetched : If anyone speaks Russian or bothers to read 40 minutes of subtitles, let us know if it applies at all or can be used in some way. Cheers @Tesla and @gerald seem to be the most likely candidates to shoot me down in a firey ball of stupidity and embarrassment for trying to be creative in a world where everyone is smarter than you. Thanks, FleshyWeeb (The Curious Beginner according to techinferno)
  6. Wow first bios update of my life with no implications at all. (YET) GPU arrived but still waiting for adapter. Why did DHL have to pass it off to USPS... Whoever ordered from US, how long did yours take to ship? (Neither USPS or DHL provides estimate time delivery in this case)
  7. I ended up getting an r9 290x (old but good enough for me). Will post any issues I encounter when the adapter arrives. (Hopefully not too many issues!) I hope to get it set up so I can unhook the adapter when I need to go mobile occasionally.
  8. I have bios version 1.10. Mite give it a shot to see if it works. Will get back to yall. Also, I plan to buy the rx 560 4gb https://www.ebay.com/itm/GIGABYTE-Radeon-RX-560-DirectX-12-GV-RX560GAMING-OC-4GD-REV2-0-4GB-128-Bit-GDDR5/292284094319?epid=2149983365&hash=item440d7d576f:g:1toAAOSwZcZZ2NIf Are there any concerns I should have? I don't want to spend more than $200 used or new. Is there anything I should avoid when looking for compatible graphics cards (besides nvidia of course)
  9. Hey Gerald could you link me to somewhere I can purchase this?
