Holy Moses, dude, this thread has been dead for ages. What adapter are you using, the EXP GDC? Is there any new display device showing up in Device Manager? If there's one with no driver, you have the card detected, but you need to install the right drivers. If there's nothing showing up, see if switching the the PTD switch around during trials will lead to different outcomes, or if having the ATX PWR switch set to on helps. Furthermore, like OP said, make sure you have only the Integrated Intel HD GPU enabled in the BIOS.

Responding to the previous post, are there any canidates for M.2 M-Key eGPU adapters with Gen. 3 speeds and a x4 lane width?

Sorry to bring up an old thread, but I can't help but reply. I'm seriously impressed someone beat me to making an eGPU for the Y700. However, I noticed that the M.2 port is getting 2.0 rather than 3.0 transfer speeds. Might this thread help? It's a guide for modifying the BIOS in order to support PCIe bus speeds of the 3rd generation.
