I can't be 100% sure as I don't have it in hands. This info has been pulled out a French site review, here. They're talking about 1.47Kg, 3.2 lbs, but let's pretend it's gonna be only 2.8 lbs, + the weight of the M18X itself, 5.41Kg, 11.9 lbs as per the manual, which makes 11.9 + 2.8 = 14.7 lbs, so this is ± 15 lbs total cost of ownership... For comparison again, the 240W PSU of the M17X weights 0.675Kg, 1.5 lbs...

Just as an FYI, 330W PSU will weight only 3.2 lbs... M17X's 240W weights a huge 1.5 lbs... Finally, Dell learned something... Anyways, never mind ☺☻☺

and, as of 04.21.2011, is live in hands of real people out there... But, that'll change soon... Gotta love the M18X...

IGP stands for: Integrated Graphic Processor, it's an Onboard Graphic Card that we could use to browse the net on battery for 6 hours or more with an M18X full packed of amenities on the other hand and with which we could only browse the net for half an hour on battery if there is (was) no such IGP inside... -

Indeed, I even think it will be offered with a single 460 WAY before they offer 460 or 480 or 485 in SLI... -

Yup, so do I. looking at the specs (size-wise), it should fit in there. Again, maybe tight fit, but a fit is a fit, be it tight or loose, hey ? -

My guess is that it would fit in the actual Orion backpack used for the M17X... (tight but fit) -
Alienware M18x Rumors & Discussion Thread
eYe-I-aïe... replied to Brian's topic in Alienware M18x / AW 18
Ya, well I thought you would understand I was just kidding... But maybe I sounded too serious; let me rephrase: If my PSU would die, I would much prefer if my battery would then allow me to use my lappy for 8 hours than only 1 hour and a half, especially because I would then need my computer to send an email to Dell Tech Support to get a replacement... ...And as I do not type too fast, I need more than only 1 hour and a half to compose the email... As for the second PSU, you are so right: wondering on this matter why Dell/Alienware do not offer, like some others do, when you initially buy your rig, to get a second PSU at half the price... Thing is that those bricks cost a freakin lot, we're talking $150 ~ $200, not exactly peanuts mind you, and on top, having two of them is much useful for at least three reasons: 1. If one dies, you have the other; 2. If you use your lappy in 2 different places in your house, you can leave each PSU at the right place, so you don't have to mess around to move it; 3. If you travel with your beast, you can still leave a PSU in your house, at the exact place where you use it the most, so no mess around neither... As a matter of fact, I do indeed have two PSU here; one delta and one flextronic. But I only use one at a time, and I appreciate both of them as I got one sitting (and waiting) at my desk, and I mess/move the other one around, because it likes it ! Cheers ! -

Sure thing but then, you want your battery to give you the most it can, and I would take 8 hours much more than 1 hour and a half... -

Sounds great ! But I am wondering why... They went with 2X USB 2.0 and 2X USB 3.0 instead of going 4 X USB 3.0 ??? (apart from the ESATA3/USB2 port) Just hope they went with SATA3 inside for the drives... Maybe they should have included a thunderbolt port instead of this dowdy VGA that no one ever uses anymore since two thousands lightyears ? Finally, I'm just hoping this google translation is right, and that the subwoofer is not tied to an expensive option (seems there's two choices for the audio card). We'll see in times I guess. Thanks for the heads-up ! -

They will most likely add options as time goes on... Meaning, once they fix every little annoying thing that will be discovered after the launch... just a thought though...
