hello guys! i read a whole lot about the egpu stuff now, i have a clevo p170em, and it has a free mpci slot, for the msata ssd and such, i would like to hook up a nvidia card so i can use opt x1.2, so i have to buy the pe4l adaptor. is the nvidia driver not going 2 interfere with the amd driver? do i have to check anything else? the tolud shouldnt be an issue 4 me (16gb ram 2x8, and 7970m)

i am on prema bios but i still have this issue do you know the hight of the thermal pad of the gpu ram and the cpu vrm?

the thing is , i get prime95 3.1ghz 4 ever, but as soon as i start gaming the cpu throttels down, as i have a tdp of only 30w that can hardly be any power supply, but if you had a picture of what you mean it would be easyer 4 me 2 understand i got a 3920xm ordered in US anyways, so i will se if that cpu falls to 2,9ghz when gaming it should still be a way better performance then 2,3

1.1v gpu i found out that this "plate" covering the powersupplie and ram must at all time be cold, so i start 3d mark out of the cold. this makes my clocks table and is really a big issue. if the plate is heated up i get unstable clocks even when clocked much lower than in the benchmark witth a cold plat i was able to play 1 round caspian with 1111/1600 so what i will do, a) get the new cooling sink design put passive cooling sinks on the plate in order to get it to be cooler for longer and cool down faster c) put together the 2 sinks by hand fix, maybe a copper plate added to both sinks could help, so the heat would dispatch i will try 1.1X some day, 4 now i am really stoked with the outcomings my problem is still in bf3 (nosharcanals tdm) i get around 60% utilization i dont know why exactly, i found out my 3610 goes to 2.3ghz often while gaming which is the max non turbo boost clock. this doesnt make sense at all but im pretty sure 2.3 gehz is not eough power 4 the gpu, altough im running on best performance setting and get 3-3.1ghz idle it starts clocking down when i start the game, this makes me crazy im looking now for a 3920xm, a little quick question there to you , is it possible to tweak the maximum non turbo boost clock of this cpu?

hey guys, i think i have the fastest p170m out there i was reaching 8006 points in 3dmark 11 with 3610qm and 7970m AMD Radeon HD 7970M video card benchmark result - Intel Core i7-3610QM Processor,CLEVO P170EM

so here are my results: i only flashed the 1.075V bios because - even with liquid metal the heat is tromendous i reach now 80-84°C whilste playing bf3 before it was 10°C below - i can run 1045 at stock, i tried 1100 with the vbios result = 3dmark can run , crashed in bf3 - i never had stable clocks i had to downclock in 5mhz from 1100 to 1065 and even that was not stable - even with these lower clocks of course the heat produced was still way too much - i got artifacts all of a sudden and i had some nice enduro related issues enduro related issues: - when in game the game gets into window mode after about 1min of gaming - bluescreens - game crashes and i get 1100067% gpu usage, and the windows dies with it....it takes a while then u get a bluescreen , if i tried to reboot before windows tried to reboote but got stuck just after everythin disappeared but the desktop general issues sometime the enduro starts bf3 with hd4000 bf3 starts minimized if u max it by yourself in the wrong moment u get bluescreen if you start Afterburner, precionX etc in the wrong moment u get bluescreen after that bluescreen u reboot and than u have 99% gpu usage no matter what after a restaart problem is solved general things the clevo keyboard is the worst i ever used if you use the kayboard and want to use the touchpad right after that u have to wait like 0.5sec untill the touchpad starts reacting again to be honest, this celvo machine is the worst laptop i had. i would never recommend this brand to any1 else. especially this amd bull**** besides that, if you r a usual customer (ppl that dnt buy clevo laptops) you can get somehow happy with this laptop but all over all clevo is totally overpriced crap imho regarding the price for this clevo was 1680€ with AMD so with nvidia i had to pay like 2000€ so the enduro problems would be gone but i would have a way more overpriced machine then before nd alienware laptops look like they were designed for 12years old boys....i could never use such a machine in my environment

thanks a lot! i see the problem with win flashing just like u , it is a higher risk, but im willing 2 take it. i will disable ulps in registy and it shoulb be working fine then. the higher voltage leads to higher temperatures which has influence on the lifespan of the gpu , i for myself use liquid metal so my temperatures never exeed 70° in gaming. when i use furmark i get 90° after 30min but that was jhust to burn in the liquidmetal, when i use the fn+9 (full fanspeed) temperatures are around 74° in furmark. that is more ore leff the same temperature the desktop chips have to face and i guess it will be alright. correct me if im wrong and i didnt quite understand the chesum issue, do i have to find my orginal checksum and correct things in the registry or whats the deal with it. anyways thanks a lot buddy!

all right! ill wait patiently!woohoo my final thoughts would be only to have the volt mod to 1.1v, is the vdram changeable? this would be a real boost. so sad no one wants to help me

he seems bussy, cant some1 else change it, i even figured out how but im still not 100% shure. a simple overvolt to 1.1v would already be enough

hello guys can you help me aswell, i got my bios extracted my stock clocks should be 1000/1500 and voltage should be 1.1 ( can i pls have a 2nd vbios with 1.075;since some ppl had problems with 1.1v) also i ask myself because there are various power states, is it possible to undervolt the gpu in idle mode and aswell lower the core clock aswell my DRAM is still stable at 1560mhz which is the maximum i can choose in afterburner it would be sweet to find a way to get even more clock range on the ram, in my old 4850m the max value could be set in the vbios. is there a way to get more voltag on DRAM? 7970m_orgVbios.zip

where can i change this setting. in the bios i only have "uefi shell" and i cant change this setting there is no such setting in my bios where it says win8 or other or anything concerin windows SOLVED: i first disabled intel rapid start technologie (not sure if it has anything 2 do with it) thern i was in the bios lurking for win8 setting, then i noticed between 1st boot HDD, 2nd boot BD Drive , 3rd Realtek, there was a gap between 2nd and 3rd..... when i clicked on this gap DOS started loading..... so funny , could have been that i never get it. now after i got ur perfect bios prema, i can select win8 or others b4 this oiption was not available Thank you very much forr your response and kind help!

hey, i tried everything, it does not work.... the stick gets recognized instantly on other computers but not in my clevo. i put it in the only usb2.0 on the right side. i tried several dos files, all get recognized on other computers i loaded the factory defaults in bios big time... usb3.0 drivers r installed eventhou this should not be an issue anny suggests? note: im not a overclocking/flashing etc. noob , even if i sound like one i know pretty much what i do, most time cheers

i cant select the usb stick to boot. i have win7 and the stick is in non usb3.0 port stick is formated with rufus and ms dos, after that bios/ec files extractred on stick without folder.... tried everything formated it 3 times, can select it....even in evry usb port

hey you recommend win-dos , which version and where can i get it..... and also in the flash how to u dont explain how to do the boot stick, with the hp tool or do u use any better tool?

hey my current bios version is xxxx.6 so it should be safe directly flashing prema bios and the actual EC version right? im stoked to go for it , but i cant download the bios already. thanks very much in advance prema

well the thing is , my quadcore gets cooled pretty good i can run like 3.2-3.5ghz with 1.3vcore. 3.2 ghz go with 88°C, when i put away the plastic directly infront of the fan, temperatures drop immideatly to 60-70°C, so i think i would be possible to cool a big card as well, not the biggest but a bigger one , like my 4850 gets 530/1111Mhz and is chilly 77°C with furmark or atitool and with the plastiv bottom attached. i use liquid cooling stuff on the heatsinks , this had made my temperatures better by 10° i have tried flashing a bios on the 4850 with higher vcore but it doesnt change anything in the vcore. a higher vcore would be the best thing for me because i only have 35mhz+ on gpu and thats nothing

hello, im new to this here. i have a pretty old laptop but i have a core2 quad ES edition that works with 3.5ghz but u need to use throttelstop for that. the newer versions dont work for me unfortunately but the 3version does has anybody any clue if there is anything i can do to get my gpu changed or more overclocked. ive read about some mod bioses for the gpu, ive modded my bios by myself but there is not really a way to get a higher vcore on the gpu. the 4850m has a pretty special gpu design so i dont really see a way to upgrade my gpu eversince i would have to change the heatsink but maybe that is possible
