  1. well and i still have a active dgpu the fan is almost always spinning...
  2. yeah i know, i only never checked how much total vgpu i got when i put the +137.5mv offset on, well then khenglish won the silicon lottery unfortunately not me
  3. so its 1.2 vgpu overall, not adaptive?
  4. 1.2v voltage offset? wow thats way to go, i have only the "normal" prema mod bios, id really like to get up to 1.2 but is it fix? becaue i would only need those voltages for benching it would be perfext if it was possible to ov with nvinspector up to 1.2 is your gpu completely shut off in idle khenglish? and why cant i pm you?
  5. i am on adaptive mode, always^^ i d like to undervolt the lower power voltages as they are so high and we can underclock aswell
  6. hey guys, i d also like to give my 980m some more volts than the usual 137.5 temp wise it can handle a lot more as is normally use 137 only for benchmarking is a completely new prema vbios needed or just some minor tweeks? also it would be very great to have the possibility of undervolting und the lower states as my 980m never shuts off in the pm clevo and i guess for lots of other guys it woul also be a benefit als in the other clevo models the gpu isn t shut off anyways
  7. hey guys, is there anything for the Clevo N170RD? A friend on mine got it, XTU is supported but you can only raise the TDP levels, the Clevo N170RD has a huge problem with the CPU, after the boosttime it only runs with the std. 2,6Ghz which is really sad... would it be possible to do there anything @Prema ? Does nvinspector run? a few mhz more wouldn t be too bad for the 960m cheers
  8. so ok, i checked my 3920xm now and with 4,2 ghz and +50mv i get throttling 2, i think i have to renew the liquid metal. but, prime95 generates a ridicules amount of heat and power draw, my tdp easily hits 100w while gaming bf3 i barely get 40w tdp, so its not that big deal with the high temperatures as u will never hit those temps with normale use. even programs with high cpu utilisation will not generate such a heat. in 3d mark11 i can run my cpu with 4,5ghz or more as is also doesnt generate much heat so id say dont give too much on the temperatures under prime as long as u can run other programs without throttling. i also never test if the cpui is stable with prime because it takes way too long to run unit there is a error bf3 is pretty good for stability testing it crashes very fast if the mv or clock is too high or low prime95 will sooner or later destroy the vrms if u keep it running for hours, also keep in mind hat lenovo never ment the extreme cpus to overclock so the vrms arent designed to provider 100w over a long timespan
  9. thats strange, i always turn the screws as hard is i can turn them before the screwdriver pops out of the screw. u cant destroy anything there. it than can only be the old paste. can u look up the cpu vcore with cpu z? your using prema mod right? do you test with full fan mode? cheers
  10. wow khenglish good to see you have a 980m now too. very nice score u got there, way better than mine :/ i think ill get clocky again when it gets really cold my best scores always went with sub zero cool air ^^
  11. i d advice liquid metal, as its better than this ic diamond stuff and its easyer to apply and that paste normally comes with some sponge which is pretty hard so im sure u can polish off the old paste. i have a 3920xm and i only reach 100° with prime95 and 4,3 oder 4,4 ghz why are there 2 pieces of thermal pad on the cpu heatsink for the VRM, right now im pretty sure tey might be to high so the heatsink is not propperly touching the cpu. maybe remove thos tinyer therma pads and try it again. that would explain why your temps get better when u tighten the screws as much as u can
  12. great work, id like 2 have mor fps on my screen to my 980m is so bored in bf3 :/
  13. temperatures in gaming and benchmarking stay below 70°C and the card is getting cooled in idle mode, so normally it should stay so cool even without proper heatsink contact as the card should be shut off so far taht it only consumes some watts. my 7970m got like hand warm when it was shut off @Prema, would it be possible to allow undervolting in your vbios? i cant undervolt with nvinspector, so i would at least be able to underclock and undervolt the card in idle state, because it gets ,865 in idle wich is way 2 much
  14. yeah i checked everything, and when win10 is new installed there is no such thing. only windows the intel/nvidia driver and that it, and the fan fan spinning up. but as i understand prema the fan spinning up is normal.... the 7970m fan was never spinning up
  15. -.- what the ....?! i could use my p170em for 5 hours without the gpu fan spinning up once with my 7970m and when i just browsed the web the cpuu fan would spin up every 5-10min or so. so ur telling me that the fan spinning up with 980m is normal? new win10 installed with the drivers u recommended me first thing happen gpu fan spins up...on low mode, which never happened with my 7970m but as i understand u is normal with the 980m...thats so sad
  16. what do you mean with the fan in low, i thought the fan would be off as u said dead silent, just like it was with my 7970m?! thx 4 the links btw
  17. could you provide me a link for donloading it? i cant seem to find the proper one and as i try it for the last time i dont want to make a mistake edit: i now dowload the 15.33.38.64.4252 as this version appears after i click to download the 10.18.10.4252 btw. i love how much power intel uses to confuse their users ;D
  18. well that could be the only chance why it doesnt work for me i have tried everything else
  19. so the driver i am using is the right one? because im just reinstalling win10 for the last time^^ i have put the laptop in power saving mode, the windows one as i dont use the clevo center, the gpu kept alive and the fan was spinning
  20. i am using 15.33.39.4276 as i have the 3920xm with hd4000
  21. i did upgrade it manually, first thing i did after win10 was installed.
  22. the fan for the 980m keeps spinning up istead of beeing off, and the longer i use the laptop the more frequent the fan spins up unti it almost doesn t shut off anymore, thats what grinds my gears because the noise level is so much higher than before with the 7970m which was always quiet until gaming
  23. which boards? the 7970m i used before in my p170em was always in dgpu off mode when it wasnt active
  24. i dont use any monitoring software as i haven installed any
  25. so now i installed win 10 pro 64bit on a new and empty ssd, downloaded latest intel win10 64bit driver installed it, rebooted, installed newest nvidida driver rebootet. intalled the hotkey driver rebootet twice aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand active dgpu................... i even uncheded the automated win10 driver installation so it wount download any intel driver or stuff didnt work. there aren t any programs installed that would need the dgpu, checked in nvidia driver, i changed every setting in nvidia driver, didnt work, restored to defaults, stiill active dgpu so as i said 100times, mit nvidia gpu is always active eventhou it isnt needed by any program
