  1. You sure? How can you tell?
  2. My main concern is that the sound is also influenced. It is like the power is bled to the speakers, and subsequently they make loud crackling noises. After sometime the sound is totally gone. After stopping the use the main GPU (the notebook switches to the HD 4600 intel graphics) the sound slowly returns (at first crackling then clear.) Could it also be a mainboard issue?
  3. Maybe you should try new thermal paste. I have Gt70-2PE that was having some heat issues. I Bought some artic cooling thermal paste and reapplied it ti the GPU and CPU. Th original MSI thermal paste was applied really messy causing the overheating problem. Don't apply it too much. After some googleling its quite easy

    MSI GT70 MXM Card

I own a GT70-2PE with an GTX880m and the heatsink is identical.
  5. Hello, This is my first post here, and I'm actually looking for help. I own a MSI GT70-2PE laptop but its having problems. I tried to work it out with MSI, but that hasn't worked. Problem is similar to:http://msi-forum.de/index.php?page=Thread&threadID=107577 The GTX-880m is crippled by an unknown cause (fire strike only hits 2500-2900). It also causes the speakers to making loud crackling sounds and the screen to dim. After extensive testing I narrowed it down to down throttling due to voltage issues. The limitation that is stated by several programs is: GPU maximum voltage reached. I bought a new power supply but that didn't help. (maybe something to do with the MSi Hybrid battery boost thing) Does anyone have an idea what I could try. Myself I was thinking of trying a vbios with the voltage unlocked so I can try to change the limit to prevent this from happening. Hoping to get some ideas, Kind regard Bastiaan
