  1. It would be nice to try different vbios but have found that the vendor ID still remains. Have tried to flash MSI 560m with DELL 560m but the laptop still does not see it. I need to get the vendor ID in there some how.
  2. Unless you use RAM Drive to use all that memory so that you reduce the use of the SSD drives. Then the size of memory not important since the faster ram is better for overclocking. You could run one sim in each channel in laptops. I have with no problems.
  3. Generally I would stay way from wireless more because of the interference factor but just not pleasant sounding, Just used to the cord I guess but, the sony DJ series can be picked up on the cheap these days $100-$150 Sony MDR-V6 with 5-30khz which means it can also be used with Hi-Fi equipment. But keep in mind that if your audio out from PC is low rate it will show in the sound especially the noise. When I play low bit rate mp3 it sounds almost muffled compared to vog flac etc. That's why people run them through headamps. This is so the noise is reduced. You could get a cheap amp with optic in as long as you have optic out from laptop then the sound will be good. Also a nice USB sound card with optical out to a headamp. I have found that an amp almost always helps.
  4. Well I have had asus g73 jh/sw g74, alienware m17x R2 R3 and m18x R1 I have yet to get an ivy bridge. But so far the m18x R1 sandy bridge with an XM chip running at 4.5 gig seems to make the games run smooth. My previous laptop was an Asus c90p with you guessed ati 3650 hd which reduced all the heating problem as well as the noise from the fans. The best in performance has to be the alienware. But that is only becasue Asus flipped the MXM III connector and means you can't upgrade the graphics cards in the g74 +. So I have had a custom bios installed on the G73JH with SW bios and I can run anything in it including the Nvidia 580M or ATI 7970m. But the heat means I have to have the fan manually set to be on. I just wish that the m17x R3/R4 would have dual graphics card support like the R2. The R2 has the 920xm running at 3.9Gigs but limited to 16Gigs of ram 2 SDIMM slots. Where all the others have four with a limit of 32Gig. Yes the G73JH supports 32Gig Ram 1600. The last remaining laptop is the m18x R1 with nVidia 675M sli. It's my fav atm.
  5. There is nothing like a cyborg M.M.O 7 6400dpi RATS, i mean 78 programmable commands for any game. I sound like a sales man. I like it so much I have a spare new in box in case the cable rips etc from too much gaming. It is so robust made out of metal and very adjustable thumb and hand rest etc.
  6. Go the ddr5 over ddr3, faster ram better throughput more headroom for oc.
  7. AMD/Ati has been much better and reliable in laptops then Nvidia because of the heating problems. I have had a few Asus C90P with dead nvidia cards running hot constantly, switched to ATI at the time and everything went well, less heat less problems low noise etc. Now days they both run the fans loud but in gaming mode it's to be expected.
