After going through various threads in peruse of knowledge concerning MBP 15" (mid 2014) Iris Pro only, with Akitio Thunder 2 eGPU; I came to conclusion that this particular model has more problems (when running OSX) than other models of MBP. Now, is it because of certain GPU cards which people use or is it general problem with Akitio Thunder2 and eGPUs? I know that windows works OK with eGPU on this machine, but I'm particularly interested in running El Capitan and photo / video processing programs in OSX environment with a help of eGPU (not a gamer!). To keep things simple I thought I would use 75w GTX 950 powered by this AC http://item.rakuten.co.jp/arcat/d220p-01/?scid=af_pc_etc&sc2id=308186821 but after doing some research it looks like the Macbook Pro 15" (mid 2014) may give me trouble. What are your thoughts? Any users of this particular model and eGPU with OSX out there?

Hi Guys, Long time reader first time poster here. Would 220w Dell AC adapter with 5.5 2.5 connector like this one http://item.rakuten.co.jp/arcat/d220p-01 be enough to power Akitio Thunder2 with 75w GTX card (e.g 950 or 1050) without any additional modes? As far as I know there aren't any additional power connectors on 75w GTX cards.
