I'd kill for this too. The ability to turn off my graphics card would be a bloody amazing feature (currently battery life is garbage on linux because of the lack of a hardware mux)

I had this issue I know it sounds stupid and shouldn't work, but boot from a linux live CD and format your drive as NTFS. the windows installer should see it once it's been formatted once.

Sounds like you need to replace your CMOS battery.
