880m is not the good choice.

 

780m is ok but no 120hz and no 3D (no problem for me because my display is not a 120hz.

I would like to know if it's possible to upgrade my old M17xR3 (2011) 6990M graphic card to a GTX970M?

I can found brakets and VGA Heatsink.

 

But I don't know if the card will be detect by bios and if Windows 10 will start?

 

I read that there are problem with no UEFI Notebook. My AW M17x-R3 have the Unlocked Bios A12.

 

So do you think it's possible to upgrade or not ?

If not, an upgrade with GTX 880M is possible ?
