  1. Hi @niket7, I have a similar set up to you (MacbookPro11,3 with discreet GPU) except I have a Sonnet III-D enclosure. I also can't get Windows 10 to recognise the card at all. The only way I can boot with the eGPU plugged in is after booting to OS X. I have OS X recognising the card by using automate-egpu script. That is the only thing that seems to detect the eGPU and when in -a mode it allows me to boot into Windows. In Windows I get no detection unfortunately and can't install drivers.
  2. Did a very quick test on my wife's Macbook Pro version MacbookPro10,1 which also has a discreet GPU (GT 650M) and the machine was able to boot to the boot menu without hanging. So the issue is definitely related to my specific Macbook Pro model 11,3. How frustrating! I'm now installing Windows on her machine to test whether the eGPU will be detected there.
  3. Thanks @goalque, I feel like I'm edging forwards but there are big gaps in my knowledge. My understanding of the apple_set_os.efi is to make the integrated graphics show up in Windows. I've already got that working by using rEFInd with spoof_osx_version 10.9. When you say manually delay TB connection, do you mean plugging it in after Windows has started booting? I haven't had any success doing that, but I might give that a try a few times. Its a slow process though as after an unsuccessful attempt I have to boot into OS X and then restart into Windows to try again. Otherwise I get the black screen on boot issue. Do you think there is any chance of getting this combination to work, the Sonnet III-D and the GTX 1060 in Windows 10? Or have I just made an expensive mistake?
  4. Someone on reddit is helping out by dumping the rom from my graphics card so I should be able to test the demo bootx64.efi properly and hopefully the eGPU will be detected. When I tested earlier with a rom from a 1080 card the demo could not detect my eGPU. I noticed you said to put automate-eGPU into manual mode but if I do that I don't hear the chime on restart and can't get to the boot choice screen. I'd really like to test the loading of Windows with the dGPU disabled so it would be great to get hold of the non-demo version :-)
  5. Hi @goalque, as you know from my other thread I have the Macbook Pro 11,3 with the Sonnet III-D and am having trouble getting Windows 10 to recognise the eGPU. I was wondering whether this script might help if I was able to disable the dGPU before booting Windows? The only problem with setting this up is obtaining the VBIOS file as I can't dump it from Windows and there is no file yet available for the GTX 1060. Any ideas?
  6. I finished installing Windows 10 and unfortunately its still exhibiting the same problem in that the card isn't detected by Windows at all. I checked that fast startup was disabled. My Macbook Pro model number is MacBookPro11,3.
  7. Thanks very much for responding @goalque. I'm just reinstalling Windows 10 then I'll check if I can disable fast boot and will report back.
  8. I've purchased a Sonnet Express III-D enclosure and a Zotac GTX 1060 AMP! Edition. I have a MacBook Pro model MacBookPro11,3 After plugging in the GTX 1060 into the Sonnet and plugging in the thunderbolt cable I encountered the first issue on trying to boot the Macbook Pro. It would show a black screen with no chime and no sign of booting. If I waited for the chime and boot options (with alt key) then plugged in the thunderbolt cable the system would freeze with no chance of booting Windows or Mac OS X. I installed automate-eGPU on OS X with the -a mode and this allows the system to boot into either operating system but obviously no drivers were installed so the card wasn’t detected. In OS X the GTX 1060 doesn’t yet have driver support although the card was detected successfully by automate-eGPU which is re-assuring. My problem is the Windows 10 (Bootcamp) will not recognise the eGPU. I also purchased DIY eGPU Setup 1.30 and that doesn't recognise the eGPU either (I have to run it off a USB stick). The only way I can get Windows to boot with the eGPU turned on is to do it after a warm restart after OS X. I'm pretty sure automate-eGPU in -a mode does something to allow it to work. I'm pretty confused at this point as some people seem to have no problems getting Windows to recognise the hardware but for me it doesn't show up at all. Any help greatly appreciated!
