  1. Nice! Just wait for Nvidia drivers then!
  2. Let me understand this better.... you are using just the Akitio PSU and it works? So you are buying a 90w external PSU connect just with the barrel plug? No additional 200w PSU or PC PSU? This one? https://www.amazon.it/EVGA-02G-P4-3751-KR-NVIDIA-scheda-video/dp/B00IDG3PRI/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1468912918&sr=8-1&keywords=EVGA+750ti+02G-P4-3751-KR
  3. Hi all I have an issue, I'm still waiting to receive all parts to create my Akitio eGPU. But I have a question quite important in my mind. my setup is a Mac mini 2014 connect with LG ultra wide The nderbolt 2 display. I would love to keep my Mac mini connected that way to my display just because the monitor itself have a USB hub. Reading the forum I've read that it is much better to connect the display to Amitio eGPU directly. Is it still true with latest drivers? my main use will be final cut, pixelmator and gaming. So if you say to have gfx acceleration I must connect my display to DisplayPort to eGPU, i will do this even with my hearth broken let me know, I can't wait to join your crazy eGPU army!
  4. Hi all, i'm new here, i'm an Apple expert but sadly my soldering skill are inexistent and i'm not english native speaker so it is quite hard to understand some thing about building my own external GFX card. I'm really asking help here and a lot of patience. I have: - Mac mini 2014 maxed out - Zotac GeForce GTX 970 4GB - Akitio Thunder2 Going to buy: - Dell DA-2 AC is this right? http://www.ebay.it/itm/DELL-AC-DC-DA-2-SERIES-ADAPTER-D220P-01-FOR-DELL-SX280-GX620-GX745-GX755-USFF-/152157064919?hash=item236d448ed7:g:YDEAAOSw-KFXfMZT I know i must make holes in the chassis to have better airflow. What exactly i need to for power and cables? I want the gfx card to stay inside the case, so i suppose i don't need a riser card. It is ok to solder, i will ask for help. I've found this, but i need the gfx card aux power and the adapter to connect everything to Dell DA-2 http://www.ebay.it/itm/PCI-E-to-12v-5-5mm-x-2-5mm-DC-barrel-plug-AKiTiO-Thunder-PSU-adapter-/252436918958?
  5. First of all thanks for your guide including the part number. I will try do make the same on my Mac mini 2014, i'm super noob at this so i will ask for help! Mac mini power!! Can you link me those items? "eGPU cabling: good-quality GPU-card power cabling came included with the EVGA 550 G2 PSU above. I also ordered a custom-made 4-pin to 5.5/2.5mm barrel adapter to run the Akitio off the PSU, ~$20 on eBay, and a pair of low-profile, "right-handed" 6 pin cables also from eBay." Are those ok? https://www.amazon.it/Bitfenix-Alchemy-450mm-PCI-Express-Power/dp/B00CCH66LQ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1468434849&sr=8-1&keywords=6+pin+cable https://www.amazon.it/Corpo-convertitore-presa-AvTex-piatto/dp/B00Z7Y2BTC/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1468434913&sr=8-1&keywords=4-pin+to+5.5+barrel
  6. Hi all I'm new here, I just want to say imho it is not a ripoff. Bizon is free to ask any price for his work, I mean machinery, work, website, payments and expertise have a price. Sure maybe it cost a lot but it is easy to compare raw materials to a working products. Saying that I'm here to understand most the Akitio mod situation, maybe building my own mod, but I've contacted Bizon by email and it has been very kind answering questions about his product. Just my 2 cents.
