Hey everyone! I'm a computer science student and have been lurking TI for a few years for a taste of hardware. Finally signed up for an account. And @Trondyne you can't DL files until you've been a member for a week and have 5 quality posts (you probably got a new user message with some useful information).

I was wondering if it would be possible to get an eGPU with a detachable cable and lead it through the ultrabay so the bottom of the laptop doesn't need to be taken off to use it? I've also read that the detachable cables have trouble maintaining a PCIe 2 connection, any good information on that situation?

I'm also interested in a screen upgrade, but for y410p. Not sure if it's possible but it might be nice to put in a slightly larger one and reduce the bezel size.

I'm dual booting Ubuntu 16.04 with Windows 10 on my y410p, will installing the modded bios (or updating to 3.05) mess with that setup?
