I had to flash the unlocked bios on my MSI GT683 notebook to be able to enable IGFX and set it as boot device.

The problem is that I can't make Windows 10 boot when using it.

    Things I've tried:

Windows update driver for Intel HD graphics 3000.

Intel drivers for windows 8 x64, all 4 of them available on Intel's website.

When the crash happens: during driver install.

if I install it from Safe Mode, when I boot windows up, it crashes.

Tried every scenario disabling my GTX 570m inside windows.

If I could get Intel HD Graphics to work, I would be able to use eGPU.

This thread is kind of my last resort but to be honest I think something is missing in the motherboard or something that is keeping the intel graphics to work.

Was it working on the original bios? You might want to go back to the original if it was. I'm not sure if the GT683 has a separate BIOS for AHCI or RAID, but if it does, make sure that the BIOS you flashed corresponds with that information. You could try an older driver version and run it in compatibility mode for Windows 8. Also might help if you are using a modified INF file to restart Windows in "disable driver enforcement" mode.

  2. I don't think there is a way to necessarily audit hardware for system security. If you are referring to the software, It's only as secure as the Operating system on it. Use Linux if you are concerned about security.

Shure that Your Card from MSI or with MSI Vbios?

The seller says it came out of a GT70, same model as mine.

Grab the hardward ID from the hardware properties and post, or take a picture snap of the card and post it to see if it really is an MSI card. Mine works with Win7Home 64bit, i pre-installed the drivers before installing my card and its worked great so far.(but no more gaming on it, only for Video editing now. Been 2 months for me already.

I actually was up all night and figured it out, holy smokes. The INF I had made was not working, so I downloaded a different modified one from laptop video and was successfully able to get it working. Now I need to flash the OC BIOS to the card and the mainboard as well.

I have just bought a MSI MS-1W0B1 GTX 770M for $239 off eBay. I will be putting it in a GT70-0NC motherboard. MS-17621 ver 1.0 (specifically)I just hope it's a good lasting card than my old 680M that died on me after a Starcraft 2 gaming for 3 hours last November.

I know this thread is kind of old, but I am doing the exact thing you are. Right now I'm having difficulty installing the card on Windows 10 as it only shows up as "Microsoft Display Adapter". Hopefully I can figure this out soon.
