  5. Hi mrmegtette, Do i need Setup 1.3 to fix the problem? The command to change Gen1 looks like related to Setup 1.3 process.
  6. Thanks a lot for your reply mrmegtette. Can the issue be because my BIOS is F1.C ? or because i haven't used 1.3 setup?
  7. Hi Shoom, I saw the same BSOD issue when i tried using Beast with HP DV7 laptop but wasn't able to solve it after multiple tries. Can you please let me know how you resolved the BSOD issue? Thanks in advance. How did you manage to solve the BSOD issue?
  8. Hi, Please help me with the BIOS error message "System is not fully ACPI Compliant" and Graphics Card error Code 14. I have connected my HP Laptop Pavilion DV7 with GTX 960 4GB card using the GDP Beast V8.0 > At first i got the Error Code 12 in device manager. Followed DSDT override to solve it. Loaded the updated DSDT file and then Large Memory is showing up correctly in Device Manager. > The card showed up in Device Manager with Code 14 - This device cannot work properly until you restart your computer. > When i restarted the computer with eGPU turned-on i got the blue screen bios error "The BIOS in this system is Not Fully ACPI Compliant". Laptop restarts itself after the blue screen and this goes on over and over in loop. > I tried restarting laptop with eGPU turned-off. Got the same error "Code 14" in device manager. Below are my laptop specs - HP Laptop (Pavilion DV7 Notebook) with Wondows 7 Home Edition. GT 960 graphics card and EVGA 600w power supply. I am badly stuck here for a week now. Can someone please help me with this error - tried searching all the threads for anything similar but unfortunately couldn't find a solution. Please please please help me out with any kind of expert suggestion. Thanks in advance.
  9. Hi Enda, thanks for the post.. I have almost given up on finding a solution to the blue screen problem. Still own a beast and card which does not allow me to play any games. Please let me know if you are able to solve the problem yourself - I also think that it's a whitelist issue or BIOS restriction specific to HP

  11. Hi, Need help with BIOS error message and setting graphicscard a primary I successfully got rid of the Error Code 12 by using the DSDT override procedure(with zero error) which adds the Memory in Device manager. The DSDT file was loaded properly. My laptop specs are given below. After that when i connected the GPU and restarted the laptop i got the BLUE screen for fraction of sec with message "The BIOS in this system is Not Fully ACPI Compliant". The card FAN is running slow for some reason as well. The Blue screen keeps restarting the laptop in a loop. So, i turned off the PSU and restarted my laptop - then turned PSU ON after reaching the desktop > the card showed up properly (see screen below) although the desktop is supporting only 1024 resolution. Ddi the new DSDT file mess up the BIOS somehow.? Can you suggest how to ensure that the OS loads properly? Also why is it that my card does not have any error in device manager and still the OS does not use it as primary - is it because i start the PSU after reaching desktop? >> HP Laptop (Pavilion DV7 Notebook) with Wondows 7 Home Edition. >> GT 960 graphics card and EVGA 600w power supply.
  12. Hi All, Need help in creating and decompiling the DSDT.DAT file? I followed the steps for "DSDT Override" like below and got stuck with 'iasl' command. > Installed ASL Compiler V4.0. > Opened command prompt and executed 'acidump -b' like the video shared by Kizwan > A file got created 'DSDT.BAT' which shows unreadable data when opened with Notepad++ > Tried the decompile command "iasl DSDT.Dat" and "iasl -d DSDT.DAT" > nothing happened. I didnt get the file 'DSDT.dsl' Can someone please tell me if the command 'acpidump.exe -b' was incorrect or 'iasl dsdt.dat' was incorrect. How can i decomplie the file?
  13. Need help with DSDT Override for a HP Pavilion DV7 laptop with Win7 operating system and EXP GDC Beast V8.0 which is showing error 12 - I started following the steps to do DSDT override but got stuck in step 2 only. I downloaded the 'iasl-win-2016422' and '2570P-dsdt-override' folders but the iasl.exe in any of the folders does not seem to be working. I double click on them and a CMD Prompt window pops for a fraction of second and closes immidiately. Even if i follow the video by Kizwan for step 1-3 .. His commands dont work because there is no folder as "C:/Program Files(x84)/Microsoft ASL Compiler 4.0" I am still not sure where from will i get the ASL Compiler which loads properly and creates the above folder??
  14. Thanks a lot 'Idol' for your reply. Hope all those coding pays off .... Can you just let me know if i need to buy the 1.3 setup as well or my laptop should be good without it. Also is the process safe? i mean i am a developer but have no clue about those steps at all - is there a recovery process in case i mess up my beloved laptop? Regards, Somik

  25. Thanks a lot for the pic.. It makes perfect sense now ... Though i have made a idiotic mistake and coupled the 4 pin from GPU to the wrong pin of PSU. And now the two jacks are somehow so badly coupled that i cannot open them up. Do you have any suggestion how i can open it up? Appreciate all the help you have done so far. You are really a life saver.
