  1. Have you cleaned it out? It could be overheating. That is the first throttle speed.
  2. That's good news.Yeah, memory is quoted differently in different places, I think it's to do with a multiplier? Let us know if you do go for the liquid metal. Be good to hear some feedback .
  3. That would be great . I thought about doing it surgeon style through a cut-out so nothing could get flicked on the circuit board...
  4. Have you repasted yet? If not then try that. The 880m is known to run too hot so you probably are not going to get any dramatic inprovement.I went with Gelid Extreme on my GPU's and CPU to see around -2~3c at stock and around -5c when overclocked. If you have already tried that then there is Liquid Metal Ultra (Coollaboratory*Liquid Ultra - top performance for High-End systems!). Seems to be about the best around ATM but is conductive and has a tricky application method. Watch the demo video before considering it. On a GPU you will have other components close and any tiny 'escapee' could produce a short
  5. Thanks very much for that man ! Before I go through it can you let me know just what I am 'fixing'? It works for Mr Fox on his 980m sli clevo so I was wondering if I just need to wait out the official release of mobile DSR? I don't want to be into modified ini files every driver release and since NV never mentioned DSR in the hotfix I assume that we just got the code that they are still working on?Cheers
  6. Thanks for that update. it is moving so fast!Sounds like good news for new buyers. I wonder if there will be official vbios updates?
  7. Yeah, seen this so many times before. OEM blames manufacturer, manufacturer blames OEM, both only by implication and no definitive statement. We only find out post release exactly what is going on. Are all new 9xxm owners getting these canked Vbios? I bet they end up on the new AW's! Thanks for the correction on the driver, since it's still an old one I'll wait it out. They apparently released that one as part of the security fix for each driver branch. No surprise the unlock also crept in! Edit: OK researched it properly now and indeed all new cards are getting this Vbios. I can only shake my head, WHY? What is the huge benefit that they can ignore all the end-users in preference for some manufacturing/sales benefit??
  8. What max temp was you seeing? Any luck on the PSU?
  9. As I understand it NV have still to release a driver since 344.75 that allows overclocking. The one due next week will be the first. As for the vbios lock, NV say that the vbios settings are decided by the OEM and adjusted and set by them to suit the thermal/power requirements of their equipment? Basically the vbios is down to the OEM. This does mean it's not too tricky for someone like Prema to fix it . I can't quote source as it's burred in one of the NV troll fests here: https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/810050/geforce-drivers/official-nvidia-347-52-whql-driver-feedback-thread/45/ but it made sense...
  10. thermal pads for M17X R4's GPU GTX 680M | NotebookReviewThe two thin pads at the top are around the 3mm mark and if you look at my pic dell use some sort of thermal putty there. As I recall the memory was .5mm (or 1mm) and most of the rest 2mm HTH
  11. I think you might be right there. He is certainly better than those vacuous, animated, plastic presenters AW use.More Kyle please, 'Kyle style' I like that!
  12. So funny, why does Kyle look like someone with an injection needle is standing off-camera, one wrong word and away he goes. haha. I do like the focus though .
  13. That's very interesting. It still has the +135 limit but who know what else has been modified? @Prema, I this one of yours?
