  1. 1. It's important to update to 1.00.04 first if you have any version before that, instead of jumping from a older version right to the newest one. Since you already have the newest bios from clevo, you can update straight to the prema bios and Ec. you'll have to write 5 posts( i think) on this forum before you can download the bios. 2. Every time a bios is updated, you take a very slight chance of bricking the system. However, i haven't heard of anyone bricking their system with Prema's bios. Take your time and follow the readme file, and you'll be fine. I have a P170em which i updated to Prema's bios with no issues. 3. I don't know how much you have your 670m overclocked to but maybe. The answer to the second part of your question is yes. You can upgrade your graphics card all the way to a 980m, if you'd like. I'm running a 980m on my system now, with no issues.
  2. The latest hotkey from Clevo for a p170em is 8.0101. I've been having issues with my computer crashing at times in sleep mode. Is there a hotkey fix or another model hotkey app that will work with my computer? thanks in advance.
  3. Fire strike score on a P170em l 3940xm l 980m stock
  4. Thanks so much for your help. I'll be getting a new heatsink
  5. I'm reusing the heatsink that I had on my 680m. The 980m I ordered from eurocom didn't come with one. Do you know where I can order one and which one will fit my p170em? thanks for your help
  6. Thanks for the reply. Sorry, I should have mentioned that I recently replaced my gpu from a 680m to a 980m and my cpu to a 3940xm. During the process I found a lot of hair, lint, and dust built up inside the heatsink vents. I have cleaned both vents and used new thermal paste. Thanks for your reply. I'm currently running prema bios for the 980m with no overclock
  7. Does anyone have any good suggestions on how to make my gpu run cooler on a Clevo p170em? I'm currently running high 80's and low 90's on high graphical games like the division. I do use fn +9 to turn fans full blast which brings the temps down to mid 80's. I would like the overall temps to come down without the full fans on mode. thanks
  8. Syb, my fires trike performance is on par with a new 980m laptops.
  9. Syb, "B" is the option to use for upgrading your 680m to a 980m on your p170em. Make sure you update to the newest prema bios. Also, use the ddu program to uninstall all drivers for your 680m. i upgraded my p170em to a 980m and 3940mx 3 weeks ago and everything is running smoothly.
  10. Thanks @jdf, really appreciate your help
  11. Hi all, I'd like to say thank you to Prema for the awesome mods and to everyone else who helped out others with their technical issues. A lot of the advice from other, guided me through the same problems I was having. Thanks again. I purchased a 980m from Eurocom for my P170em clevo and the support I received from them was pretty bad to say the least. They gave me miss guided information and bad technical advice. Sometimes, I would have to send 3 emails or call a few times before I was helped. Needless to say, I searched on this internet and found this awesome community, and the rest went well. im sorry if this next question was already answered but I can't seem to find it. Where can I download future driver updates? I read in couple places that I will need to mod an inf file but read in others that the new vbios allows the drivers directly from nvidia to be used. Can someone please clarify this for me. Also, if I do need a moded driver will I have to use the ddu program to fully uninstall the current driver or can I just install it as is? Thanks in advance
