  1. I'm looking for a quick summary, sorry. What does this being discontinued mean? Should I expect it not to work? Especially, with upgrading to Sierra, with a GTX970 in a Thunder2, can I upgrade?
  2. Hello. I've been finding it a bit difficult to find the AKiTiO in the UK (scan no longer sell it, span didn't have the stock they thought they did), but http://equip-u.com have just started distributing them for ~£231 including delivery. I have one on order, fingers crossed arriving tomorrow! Dan.
  3. Thanks a lot. I have an friend experienced with electronics and will likely try to get him to help me anyway. Thanks again, Dan.
  4. Hi again, The pieces are starting to arrive. When I start putting these components together, is there any safety aspects I should be aware of? Thanks, Dan.
  5. Hi, Thanks for all your efforts throughout the site. It reminds me of a conversation I had just as I started uni with a guy in PC World. I had a very powerful laptop that sucked for games. Thank god eGPUs turned out not to didn't exist back then, or I may not have done well in the degree I was hoping someone could check I have the right bits. To connect the power supply, I have bought: "Dell 220W DA-2AC Power Supply for Dell Optiplex SX280 745 620 755 760 USFF" http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/182011509383 2 of Startech.com 6 inch PCI Express Power Splitter Cable DC BARREL PLUG, 2.5X5.5MM, SCREW TERMS CLB-JL-52Y By CLEVER LITTLE BOX 2.5mm x 5.5mm Male Power Plug Jack DC Connector 14mm Long (in case I can borrow a friend's soldering equipment) Assuming I can source a paperclip without too much effort, I think that fits the bill? Huge thanks again! I'm excited! Dan. PS If I were to get a switch now, to replace the paperclip, is there anything (terminology or something) that I should consider?
