Hi I'm selling my EGPU if anyone is interested and want to save them self some time and money. Its working fine, I have just purchased a large PC that can fit lots of cards in so I no longer need it. Manchester, UK Ebay link below http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/EGPU-Akitio-GTX970-/282328415465?hash=item41bc15bce9:g:nVkAAOSwImRYfU37

thanks, @Tech Inferno Fan @devild for the information, I might just update the single card at some point, but ill need cuda cores the most for GPU rendering so I will probably go with the gtx980 ti as it seems to have the most cores for the cost.

Hi I currently have an external gtx 970 running on the akitio powered by the dell 220, Thunderbolt to macbook pro. But I'm now considering a dual setup by buying a gtx980 ti and just have one power supply and hopefully a better case to house both cards running x2 thunderbolt cables to my macbook pro. Does anyone have any experience of doing this? Thanks

thanks @Dschijn and others for the feedback The Egpu is now setup and is working great, performance is better than i expected and with it open has no heating issues. If I move the wires around while connected it has caused a crash, I think the barrel connector might be a bit a bit loose or maybe its the paper clip slightly moving, but not a problem really as it now sits static. I might incorporate a switch for convenience to put the power supply into standby mode, just been pulling out the cord on the power brick at night. -

Hi I just wanted to check with the more experienced guys on here that what I am doing will work. I was intending on buying the pre made cable but it is no longer available so from reading on these forums, the setup on the attached image is what I plan to do. Dell da-2(pin trick remote to ground) > PCIE 6 to dual 8 cable > 8 pin extension to reach the card > cut the other 6 pins attaching the yellows and blacks to positive and negative terminals of the barrel plug Any guidance would be much appreciated. Thanks -
