I was using the EVGA GTX 750Ti card, which drew power from the PCIe slot. I too had the 120W power supply and everything sounded like it would work. But I would get random kernel panics 3-4 times a day for no apparent reason. The only explanation I could think of is that the card was not getting enough power at those points and would cause the Mac to think there was no GPU. So, I returned the GTX750Ti, purchased the Dell power supply and a EVGA GTX 950 card, made the appropriate mods to the PSU cable and have been running 100% stable. And the beauty of that solution was that it only cost ~$75 more than the 750Ti w/no PSU solution. And I have a much more powerful card to boot!

If you have this setup, the 12oW power brick still won't provide enough power to the 750Ti, which will crash under even modest use. I had the same setup and had to replace the card. Unless the MSI version has a 6pin power adapter, the GPU card won't be able to draw enough power directly from the PCIe slot and will kernel panic.

So I returned the 750 Ti and ordered a DA-2 power supply and one of the new EVGA GTX 950 SC cards for not that much more. Just modded the power supply and got it up and running. Works perfectly with no issues for the past hour. No random hang ups. Someone should probably write up a warning against using the EVGA 750 Ti straight out of the PCIe slot in the Akitio. Thanks again Goalque for writing the script and making this whole process insanely easy.

I have an early 2011 MBP 15" running an Aikito -> EVGA GTX 750 Ti that is experiencing frequent Kernel panics. I have an upgraded 120W power supply for the Akitio box, so I don't think the issue at hand is hardware based. I'm using the 346.03.03f02 driver that was automatically downloaded using the 0.9.6 version of the script. Anyone have an idea as to why my system continues to crash about every 1-2 hours? Here is my Kernel Panic report:

I just set up the same exact hardware config and am also experiencing the same issues. Both with the stock power supply and a 120W power adapter (12V, 10A). I'm also using the EVGA GTX 750 Ti card that is supposed to draw power directly from the PCIe slot. My guess is it has something to do with the driver, as more than one of us are experiencing the same issues. I can dig up any of my Kernel Panic dumps if that would help.
