I upgraded to win 8 last night, but I swich back to win 7 after a couple of hours. first, dell does not have win 8 driver for alienware 14x R1, even if win 8 can support a lot of driver itself. such as the alienFX is not functional. Second, I feel win 8 is just a pre-mutural upgrade from win 7, as some so-called fashing things are really good, but a lot of things are exactly same as win 7. Besides, I do not like its main manual, I think it looks like smart phone, not powerful alienware.

I tried to change the sleep mode to 'hybrid' and the problem is still there. The only difference is system goes to 'resume windows' instead of 'restart windows' when reboot after the sleep problem occurs. -

BTW, I forget to say, I use consair force GT 120GB, A08 on R1, secondary disc is the sansum 750GB 7200rpm (comes with alienware). I also find that when wakeup without plug in within 10 minutes of sleep, only use the battery, the problem is not seen. -
The mic from alienware 14x is pooly designed, I have to say, When I video chat, I can hear echo of my own voice in the speaker, I have to replace with a portable notebook camera. I hate this. But I check everywhere and find no cure.
