Have you taken a look at the Shuttle XPC PSU? Shuttle Europe: PC63J Dimensions: 200 x 82 x 53 mm (LWH) it's 5cm larger than standar flex atx though.

when using only one GPU, Goalque, do you think it's possible to stick a pcie card with a SSD on it? I kinda would like to buy a netstore 221TB too, drop in a GTX980 or TI (change the PSU of course), and add a sonnetech card where I can drop my current 500gb ssd with my steam games. But I do wonder how it will affect the Tdb2 bandwith, playing game on the ssd while the GFX card is working...

This is extremely interisting, because actually the path is really divided onto two thing 1/ a really DIY approach/quite cheap 2/ a more ready to go/expensive solution The netstor is even more ready to go than the sonnet 3D, because of it's PSU and 2x 8pin for the GFX, making it able to power quite powerfull GPU. and living the opportunity to swap another sfx psu since the mobo is powered by a standart 24pin atx plug.... issue beeing the price, around 900€... plus a 980 GTX, that's a LOT of money. the other road is more diy, but also as you've mentionned, a road that need to be taken seriously. the riser issue and so on, one need to chose carefully. I'm selling my Obisdian 900D case, with its setup inside, my wife want a macbook, so I've told to myself "ok, that leave me with a late 2013 MBP with I5 cpu, and dual TD2 port, so..".. and I though, why not selling my pc, go the egpu road, for a smallest (considering the obisidian 900D everything is small anyway:p).

Interisting little beast indeed! in silver this could match a mbp nicely. I'm really unsure what to do, the netstor is appealing because of it's size, flexibility (dropping another psu sound nice enough), and quite plug and play. The D4 as you've mentionned would require the hardware base to fix the GPU, right?

THis is what I am aiming for, this sure is a costly solution, but... for me it sound the safest way, especially since there are now a lot of flex atx PSU, I still have my shuttle Z77R5, wonder if the PSU (500w) could work in there! I've found the enclosure for 859€ from France, it's not cheap, but well.

New here, deanorth, 41 year old, still a geek (coming from amstrad cpc6128 ), now slowly moving to new approach like thunderbolt2 egpu and so on. i'm from Reunion island, that's far away, distant galaxy and so on, but it does not matter:)
