Sorry about the overall quality of the video, but what happens is without my MSI R9 380 gpu that i have been using on this adapter for about a month or so, all of a sudden it started doing this out of nowhere with no reason. I don't know what the cause of this is so I am here, Do you guys think this is the adapter going bad since it will no longer run with my gpu installed, I have a 430W thermaltake psu and this started occurring when I put my computer to sleep tried to get on it after a while so I could do some gaming and it no longer worked out of the blue. Any ideas? by the way this is version 3.0 of the adapter

So i've had my Egpu adapter v3.0 working for about a month or two now and everything was working perfectly with my MSI R9 380 have a 400w Powersupply and everything was perfect but yesterday I put my computer to sleep and then started playing ps4 moved my hdmi cable from the gpu to my ps4 cause i only have one atm. Then when i went back to use my laptop i had to reset it cause it froze so i hooked the hdmi back to the gpu and reset everything however the GPU did not power like usual. I tried switching sw 1 and sw 2 and none of that works. However when i take out my GPU out of the adapter the adapter will start up like normal, both leds will turn green however when i insert the GPU to the adapter it will switch back to just the red led. I have no idea whats going on anyone run into this before? I haven't updated my laptop or changed anything.

I've searched around the forums a bit and have not found much information on this, other than the fact that almost everyone that has done an EGPU set up used mainly Nvidia GPU's is this due to the card performing better than AMD? I mean this by getting better performance due to being set up as an EGPU not in terms of if one company is better than the other what not. I have an HP ENVY DV6 7300 I5- 3230m @ 2.60 GHz , 12GB RAM, HD 4000 iGPU and have purchased bplus PE4C 3.0 mPCIe + MSI R9 380 4GB gpu, Would I have gotten better performance from a GTX 960? Sorry if this is a "dumb" question since I looked vastly into the subject and decided I was capable of setting up and completing this "project" however I might have messed up in choosing a video card that performed better on a desktop rather than on a eGPU setup. I have the exact same laptop however I am using MSI R9 380 4GB will it make a difference that I am using an AMD GPU instead of a Nvidia?
