  1. I am getting either code 10 or code 12 error no matter what I try. At this point I believe it's a hardware issue. I have ordered a different graphics card and a new PE4C V.3.0. It's somewhat safe to say that the PSU has been ruled out because I already have two of them, new and used. I will post update once they arrive. I have a question though. What's most efficient and cost effective way to test whether the expresscard 2.0 slot is working properly?
  2. Thanks so much for the input tbalazs14. I've updated to the newest version of lenovo X220 bios (1.4), and tried a different version of bios(1.36), and performed the steps exactly described. The 1.36 bios is reported to work with a X220 user with an older version of PE4C. However they both yielded the same result. Instead of having a code 12 error, now it reads, in the device manager, "This device can not start." and is indicated as code 10. Also the name changed from "R7 370" to "Standard VGA Graphics Adapter". After playing around with the switch for a little, I figured the only way for the computer to recognize the graphics card is to set SW1 to 2-3 and SW2 to 1, but it would return a code 12 error.
  3. Hello guys. My PE4C V3.0 has arrived and I am trying to set it up. PE4C V3.0 EC D220 DELL 220w PSU MSI R7 370 4G Thinkpad X220 Win7/64bit CPU: i-7 2620m iGPU HD3000 RAM: 8GB I've checked memory resource, the first PCI bus entry with a 8 digit memory address reads CFA00000. However I still get a code 12 error in device manager. Does it mean I have to go with Setup 1.3? Any input would be greatly appreciated. best regards
  4. Since there have not been any replies I figured this probably isn't the right place to look for help. Sorry for the inconvenience. I am no where near a technical person and I do want to try to get the setup working. Can anyone refer a forum/link so I can ask amature questions to get some help?
  5. Update: So I have found this thread: http://forum.techinferno.com/implementation-guides-pc/9801-12-lenovo-thinkpad-x220-gtx670@4gbps-c-ec2-pe4c-2-1-win7-64-[harris].html where the OP said: "Lenovo listened to their userbase and updated the BIOS to do a dynamic TOLUD adjustment when an EC device is detected". So I powered off my laptop and connect it with the PE4C EC, so that it can detect and do its dynamic adjustment in the bios. And it worked, the error code 12 message is gone; the video card is listed as "working properly". But in fact it isn't, GPU-Z is able to detect the card and read out all the video card's specs, but in the sensor tab, nothing is running (clocked at 0Mhz, temp at 0, fan speed --RPM etc.) Any ideas how would it turn out this way? Thanks in advance!
  6. Hello everyone, I have some questions about setting up a Thinkpad X220, r7 370 eGPU with PE4C V3.0 EC. My system comes with win7/64, 8gb, i7-2620m, and Samsung evo SSD(not sure if these matter). I have the AMD graphics card set up properly with PE4C. System is able to detect the card and installed windows drivers. I rebooted, installed MSI graphics drivers, then rebooted again. Now the system shows the card has a code 12 error, where every other X220 users that I've read up about doesn't encounter this issue. Any ideas what's gone wrong, and how can I possibly fix this problem? Thanks in advance!
