  1. Which is decent, this makes it like as powerful as the desktop version really. - - - Updated - - - I guess I could test a whole bunch of them, if i tried. But, what does the values really mean, for you J95. How does it help you ? I could literally ask a few hundred people I've sold too, what their's is. I think I will ask a few at least, maybe direct them to this thread, to help, but would be easier if i knew how it helps, really.
  2. This is the one I sent you, right Ghost ? Pretty good score. I had a buyer once who spent like 20+ messages back and forth insisting I test the cards and only send him if it was 65% minimum. I was pretty sure, they were all decent. I wonder if there is a way to check this without GPU-Z
  3. I was told the cards I have are missing the SM to properly have a accurate read out of ASIC, but I have been reassured they are made with 98% ASIC as a standard practice. How important is this information, and what exactly does it mean, for you ? How will it help?
  4. I have a guy buying a 980M from me, for a M6800. Impressive that there is a easy to find sticky/post already made. Good work!
  5. This is not the market place so we shouldn't upset any moderators here discussing price buying selling etc... send me a private message and we can talk all about it. I try and give T|I people the best deal I can (same as for NBR people), kind of like, if you belong to these forums its almost an exclusive discount.
  6. thats an old driver for sure, like last year. Shit theres a modified driver from FOX on NBR thats just after that 344.75 and I used it to test stability when I am very power sensitive. Anyways I think if you have the same issues I have you should go through the steps 1 by 1. And the driver you need, to modifiy, is just a single file, the NV_DISPI.INF, unless you got something fancy like a 120hz screen or 3D. I don't like windows 8. So no. Also +1 to moderator, for STICKY on these, literally someone picked it up in a google search!
  7. I do seem to have nVidia driver crashes, and fans seems to not be stable. There are times my GPU with no activity at all, runs itself into 92C and crashes the whole PC. Then, there's times it works fine by itself. Very irregular.
  8. Oh yeah, up and working, and getting better performance then ever. This is retarded how much faster the 980M is in dedicated mode. Its plain and simply silly.
  9. Ah I see what you did there. Very detailed instructions. I see now having the "legacy" option, was what prevented me from using PEG. Did not know that. Seen whole new alienware logo and everything. I was like "huh, thats new.." Don't know how to truely express it, but your help is invaluable. So thank you very much, thus far, very educational, and I will use it to help so very many others, I am sure.
  10. And this will work for M17X-R4 and nVidia 980M GTX ? Okay, I will go through this, in a systematic manner, since in your signature you literally have my exact specs save I have 2 850Pro's and run at 4.1Ghz all 4.
  11. I truthfully believe, until someone can explain it to me, that - that link, points to useless tech advice, that does not solve anything what so ever. Whomever from DELL came up with that solution, didn't solve anything but instead confused many people for no reason and provided even less solution then doing nothing at all. Flex is the ratio your cpu stays at when not in Turbo. What the heck does that have to do with the videofront of your experience. The 8 Beeps are very well known to be because of video. the reason I am getting them is because the 980M has no analogue connection, it uses eDP or digitally through Optimus when in windows, when its in PEG its host is still present, since the digital connection/path is through the bridge on the chipset connecting to the CPU. This is why people with 120hz screens have issues too, the system searches for a way to do video and nothing is present, because it looks for analogue first, if its in UEFI it can search for digital (because its forced too, stay digital in UEFI). Sometimes someone can bypass 8 beeps by using a VGA display, when they have the eDP 120Hz monitors, and then when loaded just remove the VGA display. Anyways this is all old stuff, that I am not even sure is accurate, but its what I think - I know.
  12. I have flashed an unlocked bios now. when I hit Fn+F7 it will give 8 beeps. If I get back again, and go to bios and enable PEG and then underneath that menu I go and disable integrated graphics. I still get 8 Beeps. I also made sure to switch to UEFI
  13. You think a modified bios would act differently ? I don't even know if I can get an unlocked bios at this point, I'm running version A12.
  14. And.. I was right, that caused the 8 beeps symptom. Though it did show some vbios thanks to SLV7 and Johnnksss on the screen, it beeps after before POSTING (or failing to post). So anymore idea's I can try ?
  15. You mean Fn+F7. AFAIK, that will cause an 8 beeps on an M17X-R4. bah why not, I will try it and come back.
  16. okay, hold on a sec... how do you switch to PEG mode, last time I seen that option it was in an unlocked bios.
  17. Okay, so I did a re-install. I booted to safe mode, ran command prompt, did the bcdedit, rebooted and selected DSE and then installed the driver. Still doesn't work. It installs, it is seen by HWMOnitor, shows in devicemanager..nvidia control panel is all setup and the right settings used for Optimus as per usual..but when I game or run 3DMark - I get only HD intel graphics working. Ive been trying to get this to work all night. I am using M17X-R4 and a 980M with SLV7's OC'd vBios. What am I missing ? Do I need a unlocked system bios ? Or is this Optimus only working for the AW 17 and not the previous version's M17X-R4 ?
  18. success.. disabled driver signature - - - Updated - - - But wait... performance is worse then if I was using the HD Intel graphics. Like 3DMark /firestrike give same 1-1.5 FPS No matter what I do, does not seem to be a way for the computer to use the 980M in windows 10 on the M17X-R4. It seems to only use the HD intel graphics. Any suggestions would be welcome.
  19. What is DSE ? I also wonder if this driver will install on windows 7 and then show that it is "compatible" for windows 10.. instead of incompatible..so I am off to try it.. - - - Updated - - - What is DSE ? I also wonder if this driver will install on windows 7 and then show that it is "compatible" for windows 10.. instead of incompatible..so I am off to try it..actually says invalid link...for the INF **Editted** now link works...
  20. Yeah, Its a tough road, but I am going to try and guinea pig it on as many systems as possible, if only for the simple reason I spend 12 hours a day doing tech support for people who buy these cards from me anyways, might as well get real familiar with windows 10, cause I have a feeling its make it or break it ! imagine, windows 10 doesn't suck, and we can use PEG/Dedicated UEFI like in win-dohs ate/ate pointey one... it would be glorious ! I probably double sales for 3 months....
  21. Yeah, there is not really much of a difference. They are all getting the cards from Clevo direct, like their laptops are Clevo. They get trays and just box it. I was thinking of coming up with my own brand too, and getting some friends to do crazy decals on parts. Anyone wants to go into business ? Anyways you got your card from me, I appreciate that. Feel free to add some feedback with your experience. (funny how Eurocom, Xoticpc/Eon-Origin/Sager..are all the exact same laptops. Though, only I can get you truly great prices, usually 10-40% less then they are willing to give you.I think Eurocom is better though, but that's just cause I'm Canadian and so are they XD)
  22. Ah, I see. Yeah, usually though its AUTO selected to SG , which is optimus capable. in worse case you get 8 beeps until you turn on and off your computer enough it resets everything by default.
