  1. I found the fix. I had to go into the GPU side of regedit and add "RMBrightnessControlFlags" then set it to 800.
  2. Just upgraded from 7970m to 970m. Running a modded inf (latest driver) and I can't get it to work. Tried going into regedit to change the value from 1 to 0 (it worked on the 7970m before...) and still no change. Any thoughts? I can try older drivers I suppose, but chime in if you're using windows 10 on m15x with 970m and can change the brightness setting.
  3. Awesome. Thanks! I'm about to open her up and install the 970m. I'm going to look up how to modify the driver so I can use the latest driver. I'll add it up here if I get it working.
  4. Hey I just got a 970m through Canada (eBay) today. Gonna install it after work probably... Did you have any issue with the GPU heatsink screws being too short? I ran into this issue upgrading to the 7970m and I just filed down the x bracket on the 7970m to install the heatsink on there right. It looks like there are screws included in the gpu upgrade kit, so I assume it's made to fit correctly for the 970m x bracket.
  5. I have a 260m but I'm over in the US... I just received the 970m to replace the 7970m that was showing artifacts. I would check CPU and make sure that it's cooling correctly. This happened to me one time where the fan didn't kick on for some reason. I was scratching my head until I realized that the CPU fan was not coming on at all. I disassembled everything to clean and plugged the cpu fan back in. It's all working good now.
