  1. hey man, not sure if you are still active here or not. if you do, can you elaborate on point 2? how much did you lower CPU cache and make adjustment to dynamic voltage? I looked at XTU but not sure which option to set.
  2. I see. Thanks for the quick response. Reading the note I thought it is interchangeable for my laptop: 'OC edition' -> unlocked overclocking limits, voltage adjustable, power target adjustable, optimized performance at higher clocks Can be used for all current 880m (Clevo, MSI and Dell). Is there an "OC edition"MSI vBIOS around somewhere?
  3. 1. What the model laptop? MSI GT60 2PC 2. What the mod vbios you flashed? GTX 870M OC edition by svl7 3. Try flash your stock vbios, then check if you get the same issues with stock vbios? no issue with stock vbios, only with modded vbios Thanks for being so quick man!
  4. hey guys, I flashed my GTX 870M with the modded vBIOS. The driver can be installed with modded INF and driver enforcement disabled. However I did come into an odd issue: 1. Games on the internal screen will always use the onboard Intel graphics even though I set it to NVIDIA high performance in NVIDIA control panel. External monitor runs fine though. 2. If I plug in the external monitor and turn on the laptop, then the internal screen will be ignored completely and only the external recognized. If I want to use both screens, then I have to unplug the HDMI cable on start up, wait for the internal screen to turn on with the boot logo first. Only then can both screens be seen and used. Did anyone come to similar issues and found a fix?
  5. correct link here: http://www.geforce.com/hardware/10series/gears-of-war-4-bundle but its the windows store version though
  6. i used this one a year ago and it allows you to set up a custom wifi name to anything you like: http://www.tp-link.com/en/products/details/cat-10_TL-WA850RE.html
  7. awesome! i will do it and let you guys know edit: i went back to stock A11 and flashed A11 Unlocked without any problem. Great work as usual svl7
  8. hey svl7! hows it going? Right now I'm on A13 BIOS and using Wins 8.1. Is it okay to revert back to A05 like you instructed then go up to A11 and proceed to unlocked A11?
  9. hey Svl7, did you find the time needed to look into the newer vBIOS version some of us posted back in Summer yet?
  10. It is a newer version but the great thing is it can be installed on a R3 too! That was what I did on my R3 before selling it for the R4
  11. I'm using it on my R4 right now! So you should be fine.
  12. not unless you use it to flash the system bios. otherwise at worst you just have to pull out the GPU and your system should be able to boot as usual.
  13. thanks for your wonderful work again svl7. Say if I'm not using an XM CPU and having no intention of disabling the iGPU in system BIOS, is there any reason I should flash this?
  14. so either extreme OC or SLI. And with that SLI and Crossfire of this generation will be neck on neck with each other.
  15. Final update on my incident! So last Wednesday I expected to get a call from the rep to arrange an appointment with a tech but he never called. I tried to get another rep on the phone and this guy said my depot work was set up by someone else and he would not be comfortable changing that. So to save myself hassle and time since I will have to contact the original guy by email who set up the box delivery for me, I just packed my laptop up and let Fed Ex came and picked it up. Needless to say ever since I checked my repair status on the depot site feverishly. Although the tracking shows that mine system got sent to the depot on Friday there wasn't any update on the site. I was worried and then later today I came home and bam! here it is my precious! I open it up in hope nothing is messed up. Turn out either I am extremely lucky or it's just the internet being vocal again (or a mixture of both). My laptop came back in perfect condition with everything as it should be. There were no defect, no missing screw or broken hinge whatsoever. Since I formatted my stock hard drive back when I first purchased it, they couldn't get to windows with my stock drive. They thought there was a problem with it and said in the included letter that they dispatched a replacement hard drive to me in 3 days time. So not only my laptop arrived in pristine condition, they also give me a free extra hard drive? And on the invoice, they checked the motherboard box indicating it was the part that got replaced. No question asked and I didn't have to spend a cent. I then proceeded to put back my self-purchased parts. Windows didn't come up at first and I was scared a little. But then I thought maybe the integrated graphics setting got fumbled up with the motherboard replacement so I press the power button once to set it to sleep mode. I pushed the alien head once more to wake it up and the screen gloriously lighten up. I Fn+F7'd and then updated drivers and stuff. Everything is working perfectly again. Also they did already update my BIOS to A05 so I won't have to worry about that anymore. All in all I gotta say their warranty service is terrific even though I did have to jump through a few hoops. And their timing is amazing. Not counting the weekend, it only took 3 days for my laptop to get back to me. I am seriously considering getting extra warranty years now.

  17. Will do man! haha yeah it's been awhile. From time to time people still randomly add me on facebook or pm for back up links to your BIOS lol. Good time. Also that is to show I do know what I'm doing haha.
  18. So a little update on my situation. Since the call on Saturday, I waited for the box and it came today. But reading around a bit it seems sending to depot is not a good idea. So I made another call to get a technician instead. The rep kept telling me it is a bad idea to send in a technician in case like this since they have to replace very delicate parts (cables, mainboards,CPU, and GPU) and home environment is not ideal. But I insist on that since I paid for the service and I need my laptop by the end of the week, so he gave in. He told me he would cancel my current depot order and would call me back tomorrow to set up a technician. So that's that, hopefully I can get everything sorted out by the end of the week. Still, any advice is always welcome guys.
  19. Like wise mate! finger crossed they would agree to get me a technician!
