Is this vBios from page 7, post #71 still valid? Can i try it on my Sager NP8278-S, GTX 870M, (Motherboard P17SM-A) or should i upload my stock vBios instead? Thank you in advance

Just some interesting facts. I did some tests in 3D Mark 11, with IC Diamond (old, like 8 months), without paste (just for test) and a common fresh japanese paste without brand, No overclock and same scenario. Here are the results: - Old IC Diamond (P6479) NVIDIA GeForce GTX 870M video card benchmark result - Intel Core i7-4810MQ Processor,Notebook P17SM-A - Nothing: (P3051) NVIDIA GeForce GTX 870M video card benchmark result - Intel Core i7-4810MQ Processor,Notebook P17SM-A - Fresh generic paste (P7284) NVIDIA GeForce GTX 870M video card benchmark result - Intel Core i7-4810MQ Processor,Notebook P17SM-A The first and second tests turned the gpu to 90º-93º (limit) with ease, the last one was 60º-70º all the time. It's impressive how something cheap like this can make such a huge difference in gpu throttling and performance.

Update. I replace the thermal Compound from my graphics card and processor, because i saw GPU throttling due to temperature. New results (Default clock and Bios): p7284 NVIDIA GeForce GTX 870M video card benchmark result - Intel Core i7-4810MQ Processor,Notebook P17SM-A

"Trivial feature" "There was a bug introduced into our drivers which enabled some systems to overclock" Sure... I don't know who they want to fool, PC is not a console to lock every single feature. AMD what are you doing? take advantage of this and be more competitive. It's a shame that we don't have many choices for graphic cards :/ And im here, waiting for The Witcher 3 i just bought. Hoping that my GTX 870M will be enough, and then this happened... gg

Hello I have the same laptop, NP8278-S, with GTX 870M and i7 4810MQ. I did several tests using 3D Mark, with default clock my best score wasn't even 6500 NVIDIA GeForce GTX 870M video card benchmark result - Intel Core i7-4810MQ Processor,Notebook P17SM-A Is that normal? Because i see great numbers in this thread but mine is not even close. With +59Mhz clock, and +200 Mhz Memory i got 7000, but just in one test. Please notice im not using any mod vBios so far.
