Same here Matte, I had the reseller I bought my GT70 from install a better glossy panel and it is terrible in anything with light. Great at night tho. Good thing we dont play games outdside

^^^ the screen and crashing makes me think of a power issue... have you checked your rated output and actual? Might run into a problem installing that 7970m if the power adapter isnt up for the job. Could always buy a higher wattage power adapter.

I had this same problem days ago, ended up being my power adapter being dead. Had a bud wit the same power adapter, tried his and my laptop started charging...

wanted to see if you were still having problems? Tried new drivers? set power management to maximum performance mode.
