Hi Klem I have an MSI GS60 with the kepler 860m in it. I tried to flash the vbios for the 860m in this page but it says that the vBios ID or whatever doesn't match my 860m's ID so I didn't press "y" to flash it as I wasn't sure it would work. Do you know if it will work because so far the vBios flashes I've done with the 860m, the ID always matched.

Not quite sure if you can really kill your GPU unless you do an extreme mod

Nick6667 as long as you follow the tutorial you should be fine most of the time. I've actually flashed my GS60 with 860M kepler a few times and it's all good. However, the 860M VBios in the beginning of this thread didn't work for me. When flashing it told me that the Bios wasn't a match for my card. So once it tells you that it isn't a match you have the option of flashing the Bios or aborting. I aborted to be on the safe side and waiting for an answer to see what can be done. Btw how are the temps on your GS60? As well as 3DMark Firestrike scores and peak temps. I'm curious because a lot of people have the GS60 but with the more powerful graphics options.

Hi svl7, I have a GS60 with the 860m Kepler core. I tried the 860m vbios here but when flashing it, it says it is not a match for my GPU so I didn't continue with the flash. I've also taken a look at its file size and it is about 60KB larger than my stock vbios.

It seems the problem with the MSI has just gone! The HP issue is still there. Just wonder if it has to do with Windows and UEFI?

So i got a GS60 with the 860m kepler core. Anyone out there with the same laptop can tell me if the 3DMark Firestrike (non-extreme) score of 2900 is normal?

Used to love this game back in the old days but this new Beta takes forever to load on SSD and HDD. Is that normal for everyone else?

is there anyone here with the MSI GS60 with 860M kepler? If so can you tell me if you've tried the 860M VBios here and has it improved performance much? And what about temps? Only ask because I'm getting around 2900 on 3Dmark Firestrike (not extreme) and it seems a bit low. Tried another modded VBios and I barely got just a few points more. Thanks

So far this is the third laptop I've had with this issue. First one, Asus G750JM, second HP Envy 15 and now MSI GS60 (similar but different) See whenever I turn my Asus or HP on it starts up, screen comes on, you see the Asus/HP logos then it shuts down. Turn it on again and it runs fine, boots into Windows and no issues. The MSI boots up, same as the others, shuts down but even if I turn it on again it still shuts down! So what I have to do is press F3 when it turns on, go into that Windows 8 "recovery" and click Continue to Windows 8.1 and it boots into the OS just fine. With the MSI I pressed F3 and did the Windows 8.1 Reset option. After that the issue stopped but has come back now. It seemed to have come back after I reinstalled Nvidia's 350.12 drivers but with the other two laptops, the issue was there long before the new drivers came out.....haven't done a reset on them (sold the Asus recently). Anyone else face this issue? I googled it and no one seemed to have quite the same issue/s

I have to say I am liking these Marvel and DC TV shows, SHIELD, Daredevil, Flash and Arrow. I should be watching all of Daredevil but I'm pacing myself because I know once it's finished, I'll have to wait a long time for the next season! As for the others, they can't come any sooner for me!

I'm waiting to win tickets to a screening of the Avengers movie, also want to watch F&F7 but going to the cinemas here is often a frustrating experience!

Hi Just joined while googling info about my new laptop the MSI GS60 with 860M Kepler. It seems like it's underperforming, lower than usual 3Dmark score indicates it might be.
