Is eGPU possible for lenovo ideapad y510p?
horalph replied to ashwinsingh8's topic in DIY e-GPU Projects
Well, if the ultrabay egpu doesnt work out, has anyone tried using the mpcie slot? I imagine that method would be doable.\ Thoughts anyone? -
Hi, HAs anyone got a egpu setup working on the y510p. I saw a post about this where people are trying to connect it via ultrabay, but has anybody used the mpcie to do this? I was thinking the stickied bios mod with a mpcie to pcie adapter can make this work. but haven't tried yet. thoughts?

I have the lenovo y510p with the gtx750m. ITs pretty good, still feels current after a year. i dont really play graphic intensive games on laptop, but it will run casual games great. great for college students who also want to game on the side. Once I get my egpu running it should be even better.

how about using the mpcie or m.2 slot of the lenovo y510p? would those slot work for the egpu setup? thanks!

HI, I noticed in stickied "EGPU canadidate system list" thread it shows NGFF.M2 PCIe (8Gbps) being a recommended egpu adapter. The link provided leads to the mpcie adapter. My question does anyone have knowledge if it is possible to use the m.2 slot for egpu setup? Thanks!
