Any more thoughts on how to get HDMI audio working under OS X? It's the only way to get 5.1 audio on a Mac Mini without buying new hardware and I'd love to ditch Boot Camp to go total OS X but the lack of 5.1 audio is holding me back.

@goalque: I don't know if you've seen the reply to my other thread, but thanks again. The script works beautifully on the Mac Mini with 10.10.3 and I didn't even need to use the -a parameter. On a related note, has anyone gotten HDMI Audio from the eGPU to work? It works fine on my Intel GPU but audio isn't even an option in System Preferences for the eGPU.

Thanks goalque, the script worked like magic on the Mac Mini with 10.10.3 and I didn't even need to use the -a parameter. 10.10.4 didn't work too well though and leaving the eGPU plugged in during boot would keep me in a restart loop. I haven't tested it on the MacBook Pro yet since it's my main workhorse and I don't have time for multiple backup/restore sessions right now. Is there any way to get HDMI audio working? Or is it a known defect with the eGPU under OS X?

I can't get a 2015 MacBook Pro 13 or 2012 Mac Mini to get past the grey boot screen with the eGPU connected. This seems like the PCI bridge problem common to the Sonnet III-D and Nestor NA211TB but is there no solution yet?
