  1. After playing around with some settings and locking myself out of the bios i tried the recovery methods listed in the first post but still had no luck. I managed to get it going again after some trial and error and i have some tips for those who may experience issues with accessing the bios (black screen etc.). I managed to fix mine after doing both a CMOS and EC reset. To do this first disconnect the CMOS battery wire shown in the first post. Then disconnect both the laptop battery and the AC power source. Press the power button to make sure its completely off and leave for a few minutes. Reconnect the CMOS battery wire, laptop battery and AC power. You should now be able to startup and access the BIOS. Hope this helps
  2. Just tested the new bios on my MSI GT683 and i can now run all 16gb of my ram without any issues. Absolutely love it and thanks to the people who developed it
  3. Thanks still having trouble finding a place to buy a GTX675m. All the ones i've come across so far are either not working or really expensive.
  4. Are there any improvements in ram compatibility? With the stock bios i can't run the max ram while still remaining stable.
  5. I want to replace the stock thermal paste that came with my laptop (MSI GT683). I was recommended by a friend to use Arctic Silver 5. Would that be fine to use for both my cpu and gpu?
  6. Hey guys. I'm interested in upgrading my GT683 cpu to a Core i7-2760QM and am tossing up between the gtx675 and 7970M but don't not what heatsink i will need and where to buy them? Any help is appreciated
  7. Is there any newer versions of the unlocked bios for the MSI GT683 Also i tried upgrading the ram to 4 x 4gb sticks of ram at 667mhz using the original bios and it started to glitch out. Will the unlocked bios help my situation, maybe upping the voltage or simply support my config??
