  1. Hi there! I've already cursed myself for curiosity, but I've bricked my subj laptop. That was such scenario: 1) it was bought as FreeDOS version (with w7 BIOS, I guess), had Linux installed (and never seen a Windows) and worked fine since Aug'13 until this Monday. 2) I successfully reflashed it with w8 bios (just to have EFI, actually), when installed brand new HDD inside, with a trick with renaming BIOS-update file for w8 version (.504, AFAIR) to the name of w7 one (.10F, AFAIR) and putting it in FreeDOS USB-stick root together with dos flasher. 3) I noticed that backlight brightness and booting from cardreader is broken now. 4) I booted to w8 EFI flasher and tried reverse trick to reflash. 5) It said something about "unable <ba-bla> secureboot. 6) (!!!) instead of changing boot mode to legacy and booting to freedos and using w7 flasher I (shame on me) just added /RECOVERY key for w8-efi flasher and so it asked for reboot. 7) after reboot it enabled FAN on very LOUD speed. And after few minutes it was ocassionally powered off by kiddo. 8) after powering on it tryed to do something (I catched it with WiFi led enabled), but there still was nothing on the screen. 9) after few next poweroff-poweron cycles it came to current state: after poweron it just enables the FAN and trying to read <something> from inserted in USB2.0 slots USB-sticks. But blind-reflashing with BIOSes (both w7 and w8 versions) from MSI site (renaming them to AMIBOOT.ROM and either pressing Ctrl+Esc (and even Ctrl+Fn+PgUp or Ctrl+Fn+Num7) or holding them) have no effect (no any beeps, no additional blinking of usbstick LED, except ones it blink anyway after laptop poweron). So, can you advice me, how can I bring it to life again without sending it to MSI*? Maybe there is some BIOS dumps (.ROM's, I guess?) for it somewhere, that I can try to blind-reflash or give to the guy-with-hardware-reflasher? *Because of warranty time is ended up, and, moreover, there is no authorised MSI service centers in a range of 300 miles around? Thanks in advance! And I sware to not to do such things anymore!
  2. Hi there! Suggest me, please, if GT60 BIOS is ok for GE60-0NC (MS-16GA) laptop? And, by the way, cn anyone confirm if files from OP-post is ROMs (which would fit for blind-reflash) or that kind of files like the ones on MSI site (which unfortunately doesn't work for blind reflash for me)?
