1. you were right, in the Firestrike Benchmark the tests were showing proper OC rates. went to 7300's points on firestrike from 6630. +135Mhz core clock and around +688Mhz Memory clock. Memory clock has some room to go up but didnt test too much yet, it seems more unstable then Core Clock. Temperatures were fine. Thank you all! will be testing and will update what works best on this system in the near future. this is an MSI GT60 Dominator GTX 970M model laptop.
 2. For those of you who dont know, on the 19th it was officially announced that overclocking will be available again soon on the new drivers for mobile pc's https://www.change.org/p/nvidia-re-enable-overclocking-on-geforce-equipped-notebooks/u/9736256 nVidia respresentative wrote: **** As you know, we are constantly tuning and optimizing the performance of your GeForce PC. We obsess over every possible optimization so that you can enjoy a perfectly stable machine that balances game, thermal, power, and acoustic performance. Still, many of you enjoy pushing the system even further with overclocking. Our recent driver update disabled overclocking on some GTX notebooks. We heard from many of you that you would like this feature enabled again. So, we will again be enabling overclocking in our upcoming driver release next month for those affected notebooks. If you are eager to regain this capability right away, you can also revert back to 344.75. ****
 3. not OC & oc results from Furmark Not OC settings OC settings. same thing before it drops. Current Clock always hangs around 759 mhz core clock during FurMark stress tes; where i do my testing to see what its actually pumping. its pumping less then default stock..... Does Dragon Gaming centre have anything to do with this? or any other third party software? msi afterburner was turned off here. should i try a different program to check?
 4. Hey, im having some issues overclocking my GTX 970m. threw on some MX4 paste and lookin to try a bit of overclocking but msi afterburner nore EVGA precision seems to be working. running drivers 347.52 are these driver locked? what do i do to unlock them?
 5. I just purchased some MX4 Thermal paste, waiting for it to ship in, has anyone else here tried this stuff? if so what kind of figures in temp drop did the see with the 970m? really want to overclock a little but just enough to keep fan speeds down. heard good things about the MX4 but nothing concrete with the 970m. anyways, let me know. as soon as my shipment comes in, ill post my temperature results without overclocking.
 6. Read most of the posts but before i overlcok my system, can i get a quick average boost opinion? purchased MX4 thermal paste, ready to grease up my system and try some minor overclocking. got a GT60 Dominator GTX 970M system. What kind of numbers should i be able to see? what is a safe number to boost mem and core ? -M
 7. Hey, im a new member here. looking to get my 5 posts in for starts, but also to get some more info on GTX 970m overclocking. Got a questions, when i did a Fire Strike test, my score gave off 6361, scoring a few points under the next guy who had similar specs, but more Core speed. i got:

Reported stock core clock

2,500 MHz

Maximum turbo core clock

1,296 MHz HE got

Reported stock core clock

2,500 MHz

Maximum turbo core clock

3,495 MHz

Why is my max turbo clock half his? the benchmark scores are almost the same but this concerns me. Is there something wrong with mine? thank you for your time ps. i have an MSI GT60 Dominator GTX 970M laptop, fully updated all bios and EC and drivers. Win 7 64bit fresh install
